This walk take 2 and a half hours or less depending on your fitness level. Starting in the walkway from Dinis cottages going up steps to the very top. A magical view of killarney and muckross. Finishing at torc waterfall. Highly recommend it

It was a blue sky , slightly sunny day when my wife and I parked at muckross house and ascended Torc via the Torc waterfall . There was a stage at a stone bridge after the waterfall ; reached after a sustainable series of 'steps'...More

This is a great place to visit while your staying or passing through Killarney. Get out & stretch your muscles. Kids & adults seem to love it - its a difficult enough climb but it is do.able & the views & sense of achievement make...More

There are so many different tracks that you could spend days getting lost in the scenery. The walks are well maintained and the work that is going on is done to a very high standard.

We did the walk to the top of Torc from the waterfall parking lot. It was around 8kms round trip according to my GPS watch. The signage to find the trail is poor so talk with people walking the opposite way to make sure you...More

Difficult enough but achievable. More difficult coming down. Good walking shoes required. Warm clothes plus hat as it's very windy at the top. Takes 2 -3 hours depending on your fitness levels. More suitable to do from May to September as the weather would be...More

The first part is definitely steep as you ascend from the Krnmare road, but keep going, as the view is well worth it. Anyway, the path is too narrow and steep for a descent. Keep going in the prescribed anti-clockwise direction. Be sure to wear...More

Our GPS Tom Tom sent us up a winding road that would allow us to walk downhill and then back uphill from the Torc Waterfall. It was a challenging walk and you need good shoes....not sneakers. Beautiful sites and a great walk

This was my favorite thing that we did in Ireland and we didn't even make it all the way to the top (due to lack of time). It was a challenging hike, but the views along the way were beyond breathtaking. We do wish the...More

Beautiful scenery, well worth the effort to climb. A great mix of forest and meadow punctuated by rocky outcrops

Depends on personal hiking condition. We made it in 70 minutes to the top. But we were of good speed. I would say up to 100 minutes is ok.

Hi I would recommend a pair of good comfy shoes, keep your stuff in backpack , hiking sticks are useful. If you have baby don't drag the buggy.Baby carer highly recommended. Cause you'll go up and up. And then back down... More
