This trip around the peninsula to Sneem through the black valley and onto Kenmare is a dream trip The lakes and mountain scenery is spectacular and uplifting and there are plenty viewing points and walks on the route .As it was February we hadn't much traffic to contend with so it was a beautiful trip.

Beautiful Street with great views. You cab stop nearly everywhere for taking pictures. And until summer you can find sheeps on the road. Typical Irish picture! Buy the speed limit is 100. They ate crazy. So mind yourself if you drive down there. I would not recommend to drive 100 though.

This was part of our ride, it was scenic and the roads were mostly deserted as it was the Christmas holidays. Take care when driving as it can be slippery when wet.

I traveled along Old Kenmare Road with a driver from Killarney to Kenmare and found it to have beautiful vistas. Passing under the special historical archway is something to look for.

This road is just beautiful. The roadway goes right under the carved out mountains. Definitely not something you will see ordinarily.

A very scenic road but one has to be vigilant as the road can be very narrow in places. Well worth the trip

This was a bit scarey, but fortunately, there were no other cars when we passed through in either direction

I've done this walk a few times. Normally we would get dropped off close to the start of the walk in Kenmare and then walk to Killarney, finishing at Muckross House, or Torc waterfall. It's a really nice walk away from the traffic.

Lush vegetation, and interesting Ricky rugged hills. You drive through a very old tunnel, as shown here on the photo. Nice place for a scenic drive.

This drive is gorgeous but be aware that roads are very narrow and there is a ton of tour bus travel in this road! If you meet them coming the opposite direction, it can be a super tight squeeze but well worth the added stress!
