The tour guides at Muckross House are outstanding. The docents are well versed in the history and artifacts in the historic home. The hour tour takes one back in time to another age. The grounds have beautiful gardens and fantastic views of the lake.

Took a drive down here one day, free admission (unusual these days), and walked around for a couple of hours, climbing trees, playing in the gardens with the kids, enjoying the views. Very enjoyable day out. Lovely scenery.

While driving thru Killarney national Park, it is worth stopping at this house, particularly to enjoy its gardens. I would recommend a 30 minutes walk to Torc Waterfall to relax a bit and enjoy the Irish nature of the area
