We only visited the house as our visit was at the end of the day. Each tour is guided with a very informative tour guide and takes approximately 1 hour. Very enjoyable. The gardens looked superb but unfortunately didn't have time to stay. Would estimate allow a good 4 hours to visit the whole estate.

We took a jaunting cab into the park to got the house efficiently as we had limited time. Your cab will stop and let you wander the grounds. Much of then oust was shut off as they were doing window refurbishment while the weather was good, which was a disappointment but makes sense. You can still get into the Mucross... More

The Muckross area has so much to offer for all ages and it is predominantly free. A perfect family place to see history, fabulous lakes and enjoy a pint or two at the Jarvey's Rest. Biking, horse drawn carriage ride and walking paths throughout. You need more than a day to see all.

The set up of the farms is beautiful, going from smaller farms to richer bigger farms and it really feels like you have gone back in time. its a lovely walk with the option of a bus. Its a very enjoyable day out and a great experience. On the day we went one of the houses was closed which was... More

Since it was already halfway in the afternoon, we decided to only limit ourselves to the 2 km hike along the farms. It's a pleasant walk, 3 of the houses are of real interest, with very friendly guides to give some explanation and answer questions. A bit pricey for what you get to see (but Ireland is expensive in general).

You never now with this kind of places what you get for your money. Sometimes the house is total waste of time but the gardens can be spectacular. In this case it was the opposite... You can visit the house on guided tour only. They can be pretty horrible experiences sometimes but this was really good and interesting tour. House... More

We visited here on our way back to Killarney one afternoon. It was a beautiful day and families were out just enjoying the day. We decided to go through the house and found the history fascinating. Our guide was very knowledgeable. There is some construction going on but it is nice that the house is still accessible. I wish we... More

The only reason I knocked something off the overall rating is because nobody is allowed to take photographs, which is a pity. But apart from that,it was wonderful and really interesting. The rooms looked fabulous inside and so original from back in that time. The furniture, the portraits, the deer heads, the chandeliers and ornaments were all fabulous to look at.Nora, the tour guide, was virtuoso. And really good with...
