Muckross House is impressive on the outside, sort of “meh” on the inside but the Farm Tour is what really made this a 5/5! We really, really enjoyed the entire Farm walk and stopped at every outbuiding and visited every animal we could. There’s a reproduction of a small farmhouse, with workers inside reenacting their roles (making butter, or bread, tending a fire, etc), and a middle sized farm house and then a big farmhouse with big barns and a schoolhouse and blacksmith. Here there is also an Irish Wolf Hound who was impressive to see. Lots of land in between with paths to walk. Really well done with friendly people inside, telling you what they can about history, etc.

Lovely walks around the grounds with stunning views of the lake. A real gem. Very family friendly area. Didn't have time to go into the house which I regret. Lots of people having picnics on the greens, lovely to see.

Wonderful experience, particularly the farms. Be warned that it involves a lot of walking (often uphill). The múinteoir and 'bean an ti's were particularly welcoming and knowledgeable and great fun too. Gorgeous farm animals that we could pet. The main house is beautiful and there is a lot of history there. Overall, fantastic value in both admittance fees and (more surprisingly) in the gift shops. Cannot recommend highly enough!

We had an amazing guided tour of Muckross House. The guide was very interesting and provided a great deal of information about the history of the House.

This is a great place to get started on your National Park Journey with a lot of hiking trails as well as paved trails for bikes. The Muckross Lake is really pretty as well as the trail that outline it.

This is a must see, We did the tour as a cruise ship shore excursion . It was pretty much a full day to do, but well worth it. The home has been restored to as close to its original condition. The dining room immediately reminded us both of Downton Abbey. There is a nice cafe on site that has a good soup, sandwich and dessert selection. We very much enjoyed this visit and highly recommend!

This is not a place to visit for just a few minutes. You can spend an entire day here and still haven't seen everything. The gardens are vast and really well maintained. Multiple hiking routes start here (Torc waterfall, Meeting of the waters, Castle Ross). The replica farms tour is worth it, especially for kids. The restaurant in the park offers a lot of different foods.

The house and grounds are beautiful. The tour is self-guided but there are plenty of helpful folks to explain and expand on the items presented. The grounds are amazing and the walk down to the lake is well worth it. We were there on a beautiful warm day and our experience couldn't have been better.
