We went on a pretty foggy day, for me this really added to the experience and made it seem like another world completely. The walk up isnt too difficult and even if you're not use to walking, the puffins will keep you entertained. Would have...More

This was one of the best experiences ever. I was very lucky to get a cancellation and I mean very lucky. I waited across at Portmagee for 1.5 hours with no luck, there was about 20 people waiting there in the hope someone doesn't show...More

I rarely give a rating of 5 but Skellig Michael is breathtaking. We did not exactly have picture postcard weather but it is just incredible: Start with the cute puffins which are everywhere and so accustomed to tourists, they will just look at you even...More

First of all, anyone coming to Portmagee should get out to the Skelligs! We met the captain of the boat, Declan, at the harbour in Portmagee an hour before we were scheduled to leave. He was very friendly and got us all on the boat...More

The visit to Skelligs Michael was absolutely breathtaking! The UNESCO World Heritage Site had been our list when we started planning our trip about six months in advance. We inquired about a booking five months before and confirmed the booking over four months in advance....More

We took the trip out with Seaquest (Mary and Seanie Murphy) which was nice because they had a smaller boat with fewer people aboard. Luckily we had calm seas and beautiful weather, but I did still get a bit seasick even with Gravol and arm...More

We wanted to visit Skellig Michael and tried to book online but all seemed booked up ! When we arrived in Portmagee we enquired from locals about getting on a boat trip that landed and not just a boat trip around the rock. We were...More

Had read all the guidance about this wonderful island so my partner stayed behind as he had a bad back. There are over 600 uneven steep stone steps to climb; people are warned not to attempt this if you have health conditions, including vertigo or...More

We had an amazing trip to the island of skellig Michael. We travelled a 4 hour trip from Waterford that morning so getting up that early was definitely worth it. We were lucky enough to see dolphins on our trip to the island. The walk...More

Although we were not able to go on, the boat ride took us there and around. We were in a little boat (my brother said it was part of the fun--with no seats and almost falling over), but the completely unexpected part was that it...More

There are only a handful of tour companies that can take you Skellig. I used Casey's tours, and they were great. The weather will be what makes or breaks your trip.
