This castle was small but well appointed. It was occupied by the owners until the mid-1960s so the furnishings are more modern then you may find elsewhere. Some of the informational placards had humorous typos, but the banquet hall was a pleasant treat. We followed some other families as they walked around the base of the outside of the wall... More

This was the first castle we visited on our tour of Ireland so it was a good starter. If you've been to the more celebrated ones in either Ireland or Scotland then this one could be skipped. A nice pit stop on a long drive if that's you.

It was a bit of a disappointment in that it was tiny.... But perhaps the banquet would've made up for it's size. We toured around and got some photos but we were not impressed.

This was a delightful experience and my group all loved it! The staff is so entertaining and talented and they go all out to please! The food is really very good and plentiful and the included spirits were a nice surprise too! And best of all, the show is actually not only entertaining but it does contain valuable information about... More

Great dinner! It was so fun! Went there with my whole family and had a blast. When you first walk in you are greeted by the staff in costume for the period and given a glass of Mead. They had a harp and flute player in the corner that were wonderful. All of the staff were very friendly and engaging.... More

This visit started off with a talk by a "guide". He was very informative, but spoke a tad too fast - which I also overheard someone else say. The castle covers a range of eras, and they'd obviously done their homework. This, coupled with their displays, made it somewhat different to other castles I've visited.

I was worried that this would be over the top, cheesy, but it turned out to be so well done! The entertainment was pure fun. It is a mixture of poetry, songs, storytelling, with the costumed actors doubling as wait staff- not an easy job and they were so talented! The long communal tables encourage interacting with people sitting nearby,... More

Quality musicians and tasty food in a medieval castle made this evening memorable for us. We booked this as an optional excursion with our Ireland tour with Gate 1, and we were glad we did.

This is certainly impressive from the road. By the way, there is a large official car park not far from the castle that nobody seems to be aware of. The entrance was a little confusing for me. Maybe it was me but I took me a while to figure out I wasn't entering a private area. Having said that, the... More
