The Crane is a great pub to stop into for a pint, mid-day but it really comes alive at night when the musicians start rolling in and playing traditional Irish music upstairs (free, nightly). This place is the real thing.

We met local friends in this bar and we were congratulated on our choice of location. Very traditional pub, regular music sessions and a very good pint of Guinness. Got the last table in the pub, very busy. Worth seeking out.

We received a recommendation for this pub for traditional music. It was standing room only as the room was filled with lively music. Low key, neighborhood pub.

For someone not from Ireland, its like stepping in to a book or a movie! The band starts a song, and everyone can join. Loved it! But remember, you can only pay with cash.

I would highly recommend attending the early session (downstairs). I think it started at around 6. This music was undoubtedly the highlight of my time in Galway.
