Should you stay in Salt Hill District of Galway, you can literally walk to this lovely course! There are 4 holes directly on Galway Bay ( a tunnel from clubhouse and rest of holes get you there). If you get the itch, they do rent clubs as well. Pro shop and restaurants on site ( yes, they have Guiness! ).... More

This is a fine course and was very difficult as we played in the wind and rain. The holes at the sea front were hard due to the conditions. Greens were fair but difficult and some holes lined with trees which if your not straight can cause a problem or two !! It is a course I will play again... More

We had dinner here last month because it was next to our B&B. I had a really delicious seafood bake and my husband had fish and prawns on pasta. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and had gigantic portions. We could have shared easily. Beautiful presentation too. Highly recommend.

We had our dinner here. I had the pasta and chicken. It was nice but not outstanding. Lots of vegetables and potatoes served with the other dinners, keeping the hungry golfers happy.

We had a rainy day but that actually really helped us enjoy the day. The course was empty so we took our time. NO CARTS so be ready for a long day of walking. The course is affordable, well maintained, and easily accessible from downtown Galway. Would go back.

We don't play golf but we like to eat ;-). And so we tried the restaurant and we came back 2 days later. The interieur was very colorfull and having views over the golf course and putting green. The staff was very friendly and we had great dinners. The scallops (without black pudding because we don't like that) were very... More

Played here every year for past 5 years. What more can I say. Try Galway bay resort at Oranmore is even more spectacular. Try and go at end of July and participate in the open competitions and you will be charged at special rates. The Golf courses in Galway are great.

Galway Golf Club is a class above the rest and must be the best hidden gem in the country. The quality of fairways here are as good as greens on some other courses .Greens, ,Bunkers and even the rough are kept in pristine condition on a course that's tough but fair. The pace of play here is refreshingly brisk despite... More

Dear Ioki2014, Thank you for your review of Galway Golf Club - high praise indeed. I will be sure to pass on your comments on the quality of the course to the grounds team. Our Course Rangers Michael & Cian work hard to keep the pace of play brisk and whilst we don't always achieve our goal it is nice... More
