We stopped in for an enjoyable evening of local traditional music and drinks. The staff and customers were very friendly. It is quite popular so get there a bit early as it gets crowded. The music was great as was the Guinness!

This bar had great live music, friendly staff and good atmosphere. The irish coffee was one of the best i've had.

Had the Galway Gold (Irish Red Ale) on my first visit and the Galway Hooker (Irish Pale Ale - named after the Connemara sailing boats) on my second visit. Had lunch on my first visit and... More

Visited Taaffes Pub on a Tuesday night & it was hiving with both locals & tourists. The Guinness was fantastic & the trad music was excellent. A great bar with very helpful staff. Looking forward to getting back down at some stage.

We did not have any food while visiting but the meals I saw looked good. Families, friends, couples, loads of different people were here so... More

A very nice, rustic Irish pub in the heart of the bustle of the City Centre of Galway, serving simple, delicious food! Great atmosphere! Friendly competent waiters. An excellent find.

As I write this I am sitting at the bar here in Taaffes Bar. Everything had been fine up to what I have just witnessed happen between staff members and some slops left in glasses on the beer tray. When I came in at 5.15 there were two glasses with what looked like ''draw'' from a new barrel. Why these... More

Stopped in here in the hopes of finding some impromptu trad music and we really got lucky! Shortly after we arrived we grabbed seats at a little table near a corner where, within 30 minutes, 3 members of a trad group showed up and began to play! In the course of about 2 hours the group grew to 7 or... More

Randomly picked this bar to have a drink while hanging out in Galway. Found out this is THE place to go for live music. Fun place to hang out.
