We flew back this morning from two weeks in Ireland and we loved everything - the music, the people, the countryside, beautiful cities and towns, and of course the craic. But we stumbled on Tunes in the Church in Galway and it was a trip highlight. Beautiful music and dancing in a lovely setting. The church is one of Galway's... More

This is a great experience for people who are interested not just in hearing music but also in the culture that created it. A wonderful setting in this Medieval church. During the intermission you get a short tour of the church and some wonderful stories of its history. You also get the opportunity to ask questions of the performers. One... More

Fantastic musicians and dancing but also very educational. Plenty of opportunities to ask questions to the performers. Great show.

We are so glad we heard about this event! My wife and I have been in Ireland 8 days from Dublin to Galway and this was by far the best experience we've had! Thank you so much to the incredible musicians that performed and for the incredibly insightful music and history lesson. This venue is incredibly historical and fascinating, easy... More

There were played traditional Irish music. Music was great but also the musicians told about their instruments and how they have evolved in time, they also told us about the songs and their meanings. In middle of the concert was break and church worker told us about St. Nicholas' church history. (It wasn't religious event) Would go again!

We attended the concert tonight not knowing what to expect. It was wonderful, such talent in such a beautiful setting. The musicians were very talented and entertaining. We loved the accordion player and particularly enjoyed the playing of the harp and her magnificent voice. This is a great nights entertainment, a must do on your visit to Galway.

Lovely way to spend a relaxing evening amidst the bustle of Galway City and still feel immersed in Irish culture. The music was great and the standard of the musicians and dancing was incredible. Great to experience traditional Irish Dancing and hear about the history and the evolution into what we all recognise as the "Riverdance version"! The church was... More

The concert is in the cozy area of the south transept of the beautiful medieval church of St. Nicholas, right in city centre. Excellent fiddle, accordion, banjo, and guitar were featured instruments, and a fabulous dancer performed several times. The dancer also conducted a brief and very interesting tour of the historical church during intermission. However - the concert is... More

It was really very beautiful. The artists are great, and you can feel the love for what they do in every song and dance. The tour through the church at the intermission is also excellent. Definitely recommend it.

I found Tunes in the Church almost by accident. I had done a walking tour of Galway earlier in the day, and the tour guide had mentioned St. Nicholas Collegiate Church as a point of interest. While checking out the church I saw an advert for Tunes in the Church - went the same night and had an amazing experience.... More
