Tunes in the Church is not religious but uses the church venue to capitalise on the great acoustics. The musicians playing traditional Irish music are very talented and allow you to ask questions about anything - how the instruments work, how the musicians developed their...More
Wonderful experience of Irish music and dance. The event took place in St.Nicholas Church in Galway, including a guided tour of the church. The artists passionately shared about their musical career, their instruments, their country‘s history, interacted with the audience. Great atmosphere, wonderful music. Highly...More
We so enjoyed this performance. The musicians are world-class and in this venue you can hear every nuance with no drunks yelling over it like in the pubs. This is my second time with Tunes in the Church. Love it. Love what they’re doing for...More

Tunes in the Church only runs till the end of Aug. But if you want a structured show try Trad on the Prom or Mise Eire show the run on opposite nights and about 30 euro a seat. Both well reviewed though I have never attended either. Otherwise take your luck with trad session at one of the local bars like the Crane whos session starts around 10pm I think, Tigh Coili who times keep changing so best to drop by and ask the bar tender or Taaffes again best to drop by and ask when a session might be as schedule seems to vary. Places like The Kings Head, Monroes and the Quays all have music most night just not guaranteed trad,
