We probably didn't visit on the best night we there was a 21st birthday on and that was taking up a huge section so there wasn't a lot of room for other customers. We did get a seat but you have to be willing to share tables. The atmosphere was good and so was the music. We would go again.

This was one of my top 3 pubs after touring Ireland for over a week (and visiting many). We were sent here by a number of locals (some family) so that leads me to believe our experience was the norm. It's fun to walk down the big shopping streets in Galway, but you can make a 5m walk and save yourself about a Euro a pint and still be in a very well decorated place covered in antiques with multiple bars and even some food options (some nights).

Went here as we are big fans of ed sheeran and wanted to see were he filmed the music video to Galway girl. What a great little pub it is with great staff that really make you welcome, thank you.

This pub was absolutely hopping when we arrived. In fairness the doorman told us it was busy and seating was scarce but people left just as we arrived which was fortuitous. Great atmosphere, everyone chilled and happy to be socialising again.
The decor is eclectic, old singer sewing machines, farm implements nailed to the ceiling, laundry hanging over an open fire. Everywhere you look something different catches your eye. Unfortunately everything looks in dire need of a good dusting.
Had a few cocktails, which were excellent, and enjoyed the live music.

It was interesting place with live music. We went there with group of people on Friday night.
They have decent variety of beers, including god IPAs, but little overpriced - we payed like 6 €/pint of some AIPA.
But I must say even it was dark there I noticed this place is dirty and all cover with old dust.
I understand the "old style decoration" and its unique style, but for God's sake we, the customers, breathe with all that dust!
If you decide to hang million of pots and other things on your walls and the ceiling - keep it clean! It was in my opinion disgusting, since they also serve food there! If they cant keep the pub area clean, how can I believe that the kitchen where meals are prepared are spotless?
So I know I will never eat there and I will definitely not advise it to anyone.

The barman tried to charge €30 for 3 double vodkas. I paid because I rarely go to bars and am unfamiliar with prices. As I went to tap I realised I had been had because his facial expression gave his game away.
There was a great atmosphere in the venue but the experience will stop me from going back.

When my boyfriend and I walked in, I thought I was in an episode of Sanford and Son. It felt like a dirty junk yard and antique store combined. The layers of dust on the antiques were really gross. The lighting was so bad you could barely make out what was right in front of you. The atmosphere made you feel dirty as soon as you walked in. The white shredded paper on the floor is anything but inviting. Since my boyfriend was hoping for live music, I had to stay for a second round. But instead of a drink, I asked for coffee. When my boyfriend ordered it for me, he was told no. He asked a second time and I finally was given a coffee. The live music was ok, just wish it was in a different bar. I would've stayed longer.

O'Connors is a traditional pub, filled to the rafters with memorabilia from days gone by, a roaring open fire awaits and a friendly welcome. This pub does not serve food and it does not open until 7.30 but the daily musical offerings more than make up for it.

Visited salt hill and stopped in at O'Connor's famous pub. Lots of great music and a great buzz about the place, with both young and old patrons. Came there to have a few drinks and had a great time.

We went for the music and to have a drink or two. They had a very good crowd, really interesting decor, and a good ambiance. Interesting place to go for free entertainment.

It seems there is live music on certain days every month. There is a calendar on their website for this.

Hi Anna, The best people to answer this question for you would be Tom & Frank O'Connor of O'Connor's Pub in Salthill, Galway.
There are however, more than one O'Connor's Pub in Ireland, which may be a stumbling block to getting the answers you want.

My children went in early evening. I would probably avoid it later on and it gets quite busy and drunken!

Hi I am the owner of O'Connor's bar in Salthill, Galway City
You have posted relating to the food you had in our bar, please note that you must be mistaken as"we do not serve food".
Your reference must relate to another O'Connor's bar of which there are many.
I would be grateful if you removed this post as it is misleading as we do not serve food.
Kind regards
