The Aran Islands is an extraordinary experience in a country teeming with such experiences. It's stunningly beautiful, for starters. The ferry ride was a great intro with the majority of the local people speaking Gallic and over the clearest water ever. Michael Faherty's tour was so informative right down to the advice to order the Guinness stew at the Cafe: he was right, the best ever. We particularly benefitted from the way he structures the day so that we missed the large number of tour buses at various stops. You will not be disappointed.

This day trip from Galway to the Aran Islands and back was a memorable adventure with an incredible guide. Michael picked us up right at our hotel (the Maldron Hotel Sandy Road Galway), and after picking up the rest of the guests on the tour at the bus station we headed towards the Aran Islands where we took the ferry to get to the island of Inishmore. There, we took a breathtaking bus tour of the local attractions and scenery with timed stops to get out and explore, including a hike up to Dún Aonghasa. Throughout the trip Michael was such a fun and knowledgable host and created a very welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere with lots of laughs and a great sense of humour. At one point there was a bumblebee (or something of the sorts) buzzing around us on the bus which caused my mum to start shrieking and almost push me out of the seat because she was so scared. But Michael nonchalantly pulled over the bus and came back to where we were sitting, calmly rescued the bumblebee and set it free outside before continuing on the trip. Safe to say my mum was relieved and everybody had a good chuckle. Aside from the laughs and the beauty of the island it was very comforting having Michael as our guide throughout the entire trip as we just had to look out for the one host and group, and the whole experienced felt very relaxed and not rushed in any way. After we returned by ferry we stopped at the bus station to let the other guests off and then we were dropped off again at the Maldron Hotel Sandy Road Galway. What an amazing excursion! Thanks Michael!

A friend recommended seeing the Aran Islands while in Ireland and the Menlo Park Hotel staff in Galway suggested Michael Faherty Tours and even scheduled the tour for us. It was a great recommendation. Michael is an excellent tour guide, knowledgeable, funny, and has a charming wit about him. The landscape is breathtaking. I plan on taking this tour again and have sent many friends to Michael's website when they mention visiting Ireland. The Aran Islands is a must see and Michael is the tour guide you want to book with.

What a great tour! Our guide Michael was born and raised on the island and knew everything about it. What WE really wanted was to buy a famous Aran sweater. Michael took us all to a smaller “town” away from the main area and pointed us to a little shop where the owner, her daughter, and granddaughter make all the sweaters, gloves, and socks. we bought our sweaters, etc. and had some great conversation with the owner. Nice people and a beautiful island. We went in May and were very lucky with the weather. We would definitely go back again for this tour!

We all enjoyed the tour. It was a manageable group size, well run tour with friendly knowledgeable guide. The island itself was amazing to see.
