Our day out in Inishbofin - after making the effort to catch the 11.30 morning ferry and booking our return for 17.00hrs- proved to be the mist sun filled day of an otherwise wet and dreary few days in Connemara. What a lift to the spirits. The island is another World. We took the South Western walking loop through the... More

We had the most wonderful experience on a day trip to Inishboffin. We got the local bus to Creggan and the ferry to the island giving us 5/6 to explore and have a delicious lunch. Everyone was extremely helpful and kind. There are beautiful walkways to experience the cliffs and beaches. I'll definitely return

The Island is wonderful. You can do it in one day. We rented bikes and cycled around it within a few hours. Very friendly people and amazing food. The beaches are beautiful, white sand and green water. I highly recommend visiting if you're looking for a quiet spot.

We decided to do Inishbofin v. the Aran Islands since the ferry was right there where we were staying in Cleggan. This is an unspoiled, hidden gem. We walked a path and were astonished by some of the most beautiful scenery I have seen in my life. We saw some other tourists but most of the time we were by... More

I went to Inishbofin on a day trip yesterday; I had no idea what to expect. I got the ferry from Cleggan and, although I often get travel-sick, I survived the bus trip from Galway and the 30-minute ferry trip no problem. I found the Inishbofin House Hotel and decided that I would have lunch there before exploring the island.... More

This place is really beautiful and nice to discover in a 1-day trip. Advice: rent a bike and have a picnic there (if weather allows)

an amazing, traquil place. far removed feeling. Epic walks and two cool pubs on the island. Small community, great vibe.

Bought tickets (20 euro return) for the Ferry to Inishbofin at Cleggan (75 minutes from Westport). Ferry took half an hour to pier on Inishbofin. Ruins of one of Cromwell's prisons on way in to pier. Inishbofin is a paradise for lovers of walking, flora and fauna. 3 clearly mapped walks with direction finders along the routes. Practically no traffic.... More

We took the half hour ferry ride from Cleggan at 11:30 and arrived just in time for lunch. We stopped at The Galley Restaurant, then we hiked with our two young sons on the west quarter loop trail. The walk is over varied beautiful landscapes-- stone walls and sheep, peat bogs, isolated sandy beaches, beautiful cliffs (one with a magical... More

We went over on the ferry from Cleggan at 11.30am - about 40 mins. The Island is beautiful, unspoilt and very peaceful. We were there in October with our teenaged sons we had a fab walk, stunning views and deserted beaches. We had lunch in the Beach café - wonderful food and friendly service. We would recommend the lamb burger... More
