I went to Blue Light Pub on a Sunday afternoon around 14:00 with 3 friends, we grabbed some coffees for 17.7 euro. After we drunk the coffees some musitians arrived, so we decided to stay for some pints. We waited for the waiter to come and take a new order but he kept running up and down without considering us. Eventually, around 16:10 the manager came asking in a rude manner if we were to dring something, so we said yes and ordered some pints. Right after the waiter came to place a "reserved" plate on our table. So I asked what's the meaning and they answered that there were customers coming at 17:00, I replied back that we were customers already sitting it that place, he said they have a policy for customers drinking only to stay max 2 hours at the table. I went to speack with the manager and the answer was the same.
I felt unwanted and poorly served. I believe such rudness cannot be forgiven. Never again in such place where they do not know the basic rules of savoir-faire, quality service and politness.
Moreover, the place was dirty and the coffee quality was questionable!

The whole thing was a disaster. They didn't ask me or my family for their covid certs. The pints were awful got 2 Guinness and the heads were huge and taste vile. My wife got a gin and tonic she basically got a whole glass of gin. The food arrived nearly an hour late got the beef burger it wasn't cooked fully brought it back it was delicious but the worst of all a big rat ran into the kicthen. We told the staff and they went looking for it but no good effort in trying to get seemed like they didn't care. I would not in a million years come back to this place and neither used use!.

A great experience, the pub was in a fantastic location, had great views and felt very authentic. A great pint of Guiness and possible the best Vegan burger I have ever had, the food really was beyond expectations. Great place to visit, well worth the trip out of the City

I went there last night. I live locally but it's probably my first time there in 2 years. I found the two staff members in the small front bar not the warmest or the most engaging. When it was time to finish up we got hunted outside. I think their customers service skills could do with some improvement. As for the pub itself it a great authentic traditional old school proper Irish pub. The turf fire is a great. I'd go back again but not for the staff.

Light up your evening or weekend or lunchtime with a trip to one of Ireland, nay the world's, most iconic watering holes. We rocked up there last Tuesday at midday for a pint or two and a toasted special, just a divine day with the most splendid view of every inch of darling ould Dublin, framed by the stunning county mountains.
Don't worry about those jacks either - the toilets are now a spank new, spotless porcelain palace. There's pizzas available too now it seems and the beer and ambience, especially the Guinness, are top notch. Has to be a contender for one of the greatest drinking emporiums on the planet, down to earth but also scaling the heights of best standards and almost literally touching the sky. A place apart.

This pub is quite a hard pub to find but when you do you will be shocked. On a sunny summers weekend evening this pub is packed, real Irish feel with what I would call the true Irish crack, I visited with friends where we had one of the greatest pints of Guinness I have ever had. The greatest part of the pub besides it great fun and friendly atmosphere the views look over the hole of dublin it is truely breath taking please please please make it your business to visit this pub u will thank me!

Was told to head to the Blue Light on St Patrick’s Day, big mistake, the rudest staff I’ve ever encountered, the pints were terrible and after paying to get a taxi to the place to see the band, the owner cancelled the gig 5 mins before the were due to start! Not the cleanest pub I’ve ever been in either. I was told the it was a quaint little Irish pub with pleasant staff, great atmosphere, great music and a beautiful view,. Itt has none of the above except for the view!

This pub has been in the same family for generations and is very special. It is nestled in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, (just 4 mins drive off the M50 ring road motorway at the turn off for "Stepaside"). Excellent very local pub, the view of Dublin City is exceptional from the beer garden, music every night.. GREAT pints and very friendly, nice rooms and turf fires -

Arriving in Dublin on Sept 8, 2017. Will hire taxi (?) to Blue Light. Is it difficult to hire a taxi from Blue Light back to my hotel (Brooks Hotel)?
Is a reservation required for Friday nights?
