Two of my my friends and I planned a night away in dublin.Friend of ours recommended Rysns as a good GAA pub and it lived up to all expectations.
The owner of the pub greeted us at door and asked if we had preference to watch the hurling game that was being aired by sky tv.
He ensured we got seats near tv,checked in on us regularly ,was great to experience a landlord being so customer focused.it was busy, bar staff second to none great atmosphere looking forward to return visit.
Thank you .

When you enter this dark dimly lit pub, your senses are heightened towards the smell of incense. The pub has memorabilia everywhere and even a pool table at the rear. The pub can be best described as being a New York dive bar and traditional Irish Bar. It manages to pull it off and does have a charm depending on when you visit.

It's a shame the drinks are so expensive especially when compared to other local pubs.

My husband and I are here from the states and just happened to wonder in. The food was out of this world and Elliot and Micheal were extremely knowledgeable about the whiskey! If you visit the whiskey bar downstairs I recommend this two Scottish gentlemen!

This pub has 2 entries on Tripadvisor so I am posting my review here also:

Had a few drinks with friends here recently. Initially you get the sense of going back in time when you enter the pub as it is it quite dark and the walls are adorned with many knick knacks and souvenirs from over years. Once you adjust to the surroundings you can relax and reminisce about how all pubs used to be like this. It has held on to its charm and that old pub feel about it (which it is) as it hasn't tried to be a modern pub. It's a nice little pub and they also had music later that night but unfortunately we couldn't stay that late.

I was very unimpressed with my experience at Ryan’s. Not only were they biased with who they let in (checking the girls’ IDs but not the boys’), the drinks were far too overpriced… Will not be revisiting, very disappointed.

Very nice and well managed bar. The music is not too loud and you could watch local football ob TV screens. Besides beer you are offered different kinds oft longdrinks and shots.

Needed a place to eat late lunch, early supper after long flight from USA. Food was great and portions very good for hungry Americans! Servers answered a zillion questions we had as first time travelers to Ireland.

I was blocked at the entrance, the security guy at the entrance didnt allow me and my friends to get in inspite of the club being almost empty. We didnt even drank anything previously.

Me and six other friends, 3 boys and 3 girls, heard the nice live music sound from this very nice looking pub and and we got to the entrance the rude security man told us they were filled up, while they were only like 50% full and other guys were coming in. The bar closes at 3a.m and we tried to get in at around 00:30, without having drank anything so far. This is a shameful situation for a pub located in a city where people are supposed to be nice and friendly, specially with tourists.
I definitely do not recommend this pub.
