The Merry Ploughboy is the only pub in Ireland owned and managed by musicians, and it is the 'hands on' approach from the owners that makes a visit to the Merry Ploughboy the highlight of many people's trip to Ireland. The two hour Irish music & Irish dancing show (which takes place nightly at the pub) has been awarded "Best Dinner/Entertainment Event in Ireland" and the pub is the current "Music Pub of the Year" in Ireland. Owners and musicians, The Merry Ploughboys, have been performing together for 25 years making their show the longest running show in Ireland hosted continuously by the same performers. The pub is located about 20 minutes south of Dublin City centre with complimentary car parking. It is easily accessed by taxi or if you are staying in the city centre we recommend our shuttle transfer service (just 7.50 euro return fare). The transfer by luxury executive coach offers an elevated view of the scenic Southside of Dublin city. After the show, the coach will drop you back as close as practical to your accommodation. Reservations are essential, however online bookings for the dinner & show (and shuttle transfer if required) can be made in real-time on our own website. We operate a "ticketless" booking system. You will receive a unique booking reference number on your email receipt and our floor manager will have all your details when you arrive at the pub.

I like to be on the stage and perform when I am on vacation, since I just want to have fun, fun, fun! Sure enough, I was called up to the stage and won a T-shirt, then I had to:" Put it on slowly..." I totally understood the hint and I had a great time to be sexy and playful!... More

My wife and I just completed a 10 day self guided drive tour of Ireland. We finished it with an online reservation Dinner/Show at the Merry Ploughboys in Dublin, what a finish. Food was very good, service was friendly and responsive. The musicians and dancers exceeded all expectations. All players interacted with the audience and we felt we were part... More

Three of us dined in the Parlour in the Merry Ploughboy last Saturday night and we had a great evening. The place was packed and we arrived at 9.15pm and managed to get a table. There was a large group beside us of Italians and a 90th Birthday Party all having a great time. The parlour has great atmosphere decked... More

We bought tickets months in advance and arranged for a taxi to pick us up early from our flat so we could get seats close up. When the doors opened at 6:30, we were seated in the back of the room by the staff as all the large tables were reserved for buses and groups. Needless to say we were... More

Visited as part of a tour and sat down as far as it was possible from the gigantic speakers As I said, the food was good, the staff was in a great hurry to clear the tables before we finished eating I like Ireland's musi but this was seriously loud and poor singing Wouldn't return

What a great evening! Very reasonably priced when booked on line when you consider that they provide a coach or taxi pick up from your hotel - the pub is a few KM out of Dublin and a really good meal. That's just the start! The Merry Ploughboys are excellent Irish folk musicians. They play a range of instruments. One... More

I visited "The Merry Ploughboy" Sept 20, 2016 on a tour of Ireland. The dinner was fabulous (great food) and the dancers were fantastic (thought I was going to die when they pulled me in to dance-Lol-I don't like to dance 😝) but it was fun. Dermot ? (I believe I got the name right) was amazing on the fiddle/violin... More
