The Merry Ploughboy is the only pub in Ireland owned and managed by musicians, and it is the 'hands on' approach from the owners that makes a visit to the Merry Ploughboy the highlight of many people's trip to Ireland. The two hour Irish music & Irish dancing show (which takes place nightly at the pub) has been awarded "Best Dinner/Entertainment Event in Ireland" and the pub is the current "Music Pub of the Year" in Ireland. Owners and musicians, The Merry Ploughboys, have been performing together for 25 years making their show the longest running show in Ireland hosted continuously by the same performers. The pub is located about 20 minutes south of Dublin City centre with complimentary car parking. It is easily accessed by taxi or if you are staying in the city centre we recommend our shuttle transfer service (just 7.50 euro return fare). The transfer by luxury executive coach offers an elevated view of the scenic Southside of Dublin city. After the show, the coach will drop you back as close as practical to your accommodation. Reservations are essential, however online bookings for the dinner & show (and shuttle transfer if required) can be made in real-time on our own website. We operate a "ticketless" booking system. You will receive a unique booking reference number on your email receipt and our floor manager will have all your details when you arrive at the pub.

A real treat outside of Dublin in the hills. The Merry Ploughboys have been making music for 25 years so they opened a true Irish Pub. They serve you beer at the bar then get up on stage and entertain with traditional music. Their young dancers put on a great show as well. The food is divine as well.

We had lunch here on wednesday 6th July and it was really good. My son had the seafood chowder as starter and said it was the best he ever had And Gordon our cousin from Liverpool was delighted with the whole experience. We will definitely return.

This was a dinner and show evening and it was all amazing from start to finish. Greeted on arrival by a very nice lady and shown into the bar before heading to the room for the show. Three course dinner with wine, very very nice. The show itself was Traditional Irish Music with dancing and banjo playing. Would definitely go... More

We hosted our group of 30 people and nobody went home without creating real memories. This is a must see for anyone who loves everything Irish. The food, the music, the Irish dancers, and the location itself will leave feeling like a piece of your heart was left in Ireland.

It was great-great pleasure to listen to the best irish voices and tunes in such a warm and nice place with fantastic atmosphere! High speed Irish step was performed by young pretty dancers and left the best impressions! The food was very tasty and there were big portions so we could hardly finish them :D

Looking for Irish music, dancing and food and this was the BEST. Loved all aspects of Pub. Booked privately and as they were not located near our central Dublin hotel, we took advantage of their transfer to pub and was thankful not to need taxi or public transportation. Check their website if you need transportation to pub. We were on... More

It doesn't get better than this: Authentic Irish music, great food, and wonderful Irish step dancers. I was captivated the entire time. The singers are superb and some songs will even give you goose bumps. Come for the music, singing, dancing, and outstanding food and leave with forever memories of Ireland. The pub has a bus that picks up at... More

I really loved being able to hear authentic traditional Irish music. It was beautiful. And the dancers were great as well.
