About
The pub, the poet and the pint. In Dublin, they seem to be inseparable. The public house is where writers sharpened their wit. This two hour walking tour is led by a team of professional actors who follow in the footsteps of James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Oscar Wilde, Brendan Behan and many others. You will hear renditions of prose, verse, drama and song from Dublin's literary hall of fame. The evening is packed with entertainment and also includes a quiz with prizes for the winners. As one critic wrote: 'A highly enjoyable evening that gives you the pleasant notion of replacing brain cells as you drown them'. Check our website for further details and to book online.

This was the highlight of my trip to Dublin and exceeded my expectations. I was very impressed by the calibre of the two hosts, Frank and Finbar. Not only do they have an impressive knowledge of some literary greats but their acting skills were impeccable. They managed to entertain their audience and kept us enthralled throughout, painting pictures with their words. The pubs we visited were steeped in history and I now have a much better knowledge of where to go on my next trip thanks to Finbar and Frank. I would highly recommend this walking tour to anyone who wants to find out more about this fair city and some of its writers, poets and playwrights.

My wife and I have just been on the Dublin Literary Pub Crawl with our Host FINBAR. His knowledge, wit and charisma made for a very entertaining evening and he kept the group enthralled throughout. This is our third literature tour and all have been of a very high standard, we would highly recommend this tour

This is one of the best ways to get a taste of the delicious history and literature in the heart of Dublin.

Though you can count on the the Guiness being great from pub to pub, the spirit of the evening was elevated by our host, Finn. Normally, the stage is set for two but you would have never known it, because he singlehandedly entertained us with stories of the great writers and their words.

You don’t have to be well versed in Irish literature to enjoy, just grab a glass and gather round for a grand time.

Thank you sir. We got hit by Covid so the other actor could not join Finn. But he's well able to entertain - as you fairly point out. Colm

Two professional actors delivered terrific performances and a memorable experience in this attraction. Part historical lecture, part city tour, and
part dramatic performance, this pub crawl is full of humor, drama, and history. Charming hosts who interact freely while leading the tour. It was a wonderful finale to our three week tour of the country.

Absolutely an outstanding experience from start to finish!!! The two hosts, Colin and Finbar, were pure magic to watch as they sang, acted and tour guided us around not just 4 pubs but also the streets of Dublin and Trinity College. Our whole family, ages 14-80, adored learning from them about Irish literary history. Best of all were their performances of Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, Joyce’s Ulysess and many other works of art. Truly a highlight of our trip and can’t recommend it more!

We really enjoyed this tour, our guides were John who played some lovely folk songs and Colm who recited and spoke about Irish literature. We learned a lot and visited some lovely pubs outside of Temple Bar! We even made friends with some locals during one of the pub stops which shows how friendly this city is. Highly entertaining and you don’t need to know anything about Irish literature to enjoy this tour would recommend to anyone visiting Dublin.

This was not the first time that I had been on the literary pub crawl and the experience, if anything, only gets better. Frank and Finbar were our 'presenters' and were informative and humorous throughout the tour of a few pubs in the area, giving details of the lives of Irish literary giants, such as, Oscar Wilde, Brendan Behan, James Joyce and others as well as short extracts from their works is an experience not to be missed. If you do only one tour in Dublin I recommend it should be this one

I had a blast on this pub crawl. It's a great mix of acting, stories and history, while getting to do and see the history that's being discussed. I was smiling and laughing for most of the crawl, maybe the libations helped, but I would highly recommend.

I cannot possibly express how truly wonderful this pub crawl is. Frank and Finn are the best tour guides, story tellers, and actors we've had the pleasure of hanging out with on a tour like this. We learned some incredible history, heard some delightful stories, and stopped at some really cool pubs. Frank and Finn went above and beyond with recommendations and helping us out when my husband got temporarily separated from the tour. Highly reccommend!

If Irish literary and cultural history intrigues you, you love good stories, lively story-tellers, and enjoy walking urban sights, look no further. Frank and Finran were our most excellent guides and entertainers on a lovely pub crawl through Dublin and Irish literary history. No dry as dust monologues on the topic. More like a mobile performance distributed among 4 pub stops and Trinity College, taking inspiration from famous Irish writers, the theater and Dublin's pub culture. We loved it, and would highly recommend.
