Peadar Kearney’s on Dame street is a traditional pub with strong historic roots. The pub is named after a musician who composed Abhrán na BhFiann (The Irish national anthem). We continue this tradition with nightly traditional, toe tapping music. One of the regular musicians, Brian Brody, is a must see for any tourist visiting the city. He’s a one man atmosphere machine. There’s a basement bar downstairs when upstairs overflows, which also caters to most sporting events. If you’re looking for somewhere with temple bar music and atmosphere without the prices, take a look at Peadar’s.

Ended up here during a hostel pub crawl. We were brought in via the basement and 50 of us queued up at a small bar staffed by one enthusiastic but overwhelmed gentleman. 3 of us decided to sneak off upstairs instead and boy are we glad we did. A great atmosphere, friendly staff, a pleasant mix of locals and tourists... More

Maybe it was the nonchalant staff, the nervous looking bouncer on the door chatting to the Gards in the patrol car, the loud soccer song shouting group of lads on a stags weekend right next to us, the loud TV in the corner showing soccer to people who weren't interested, all added to the feeling that place lacked the atmosphere... I think it depends totally on the bar staff as some can come across as quite unfriendly - others great. The drinks are reasonable but E1.50 for a splash of lemonade in a whiskey is, in my mind excessive. The music is always good and I like the way the front window opens onto Dame Street - grab a spot... More

We visited the bar a few times for drinks during our visit to Dublin. It has a small frontage that during our visit had the shutters open so we could sit looking out onto the passing crowds. The bar is of dark wood but was clean and well kept. There were a number of TV's inside. Drink prices were cheaper... More

Took the advice posted by another trip advisor reviewer to nip to this pub and try it out So very glad we did. We were welcomed warmly by James who not only served us wonderful pints of the black stuff reasonably priced for the temple bar area but kept us entertained with that wonderful Irish humour. We returned a couple... More

I was on vacation with my family in mid-July, and we stopped at Peadar Kearney's on our first night in Dublin. We had arrived from the states early that morning, so we were all pretty jet-lagged and had no idea what could be in store from a small little pub slightly off the beaten path from the main Temple Bar... Called in here late afternoon on a weekday for a quick drink before going for a meal in a nearby restaurant. The sign outside offered drinks at €4.30 which was better than the €5.20 we had been paying most other places. The atmosphere was warm and cheerful and I ordered a pint of Guinness for myself with a glass of... More

I visited here on a stag do recently, and we had a total blast. Firstly, the doorman was very friendly - especially considering we were a group of 7 lads. He said he'd had trouble earlier in the night, but would give us the benefit of the doubt. That would rarely happen elsewhere, so thank you for that! When inside,... More

Hanging around Dublin city, I just walking into this pub without any information about this pub. And it was the best experience in Dublin. The barman John and people in that pub were amicable to stranger. Of course, irish coffee was exclusive. I recommend this pub if you travel Ireland. Thank you for your kindness Peadar Kearney's. Sean.
