Beautiful Lord Mayor House is located in city centre - Dawson Street. It's dating from 18th century, and it's one of the oldest buildings in Dublin. Tour is possible as well, you'll have to check official website and to follow all of the steps to book the tour. Photo is taken during Christmas Holidays 19.

I attended a charity lunch in the Round Room with 360 in attendance and they did a great job.

It is always a privilege to be in the round room given its extraordinary history in Irish politics, one has to reflect on the first Dail Eireann meeting there on 21st January 1919.

Anyway, we had a different experience with a superb Christmas lunch, food was great and service top class. Our MC for the day was Hecter Ó hEochagáin, who did a great job.

Well done again.

We were very lucky to have been in Dublin on the day The Mansion House offered an 'open day' (no charge to enter). Came upon it by chance and so delighted we did.

The building itself is really beautiful and has so much interesting history attached. The staff, including the Mayor himself - Mr Ring - who was so kind as to chat us and have pictures taken with us, were really friendly and informative.

I lived in Dublin for many years and passed it 1000's of times, it was lovely to finally get to see inside.

Thank you

Exceptionally dark inside. Good food: excellent service and all at the table got it at the same time. Really lovely salad along with beef - could have had some additional vegetables and potatoes. Nice chocolate and raspberry torte. Asked for tea - got coffee - never drank coffee - told the girl and she kept saying no its tea!! Never got a new cup nor did anyone else at the table. Lots of works being done outside so difficult to drop off and if disabled difficult to get in as loads of steps.

Over the years i have lived here in dublin, i have passed by this place on many an occasion, and always wondered going in and taking a look around.
I was in Dublin yesterday, and decided to take a walk around, and by chance stumbled upon the Mansion House, I was with my nine year old daughter, and was just at a wander, so decided to see if we could go in. We saw a load of Americans going up some stairs into a side door, all talking loudly as usual, so thought to myself, why not? so my daughter and me follwed them in the door, to be met by a nice man, who was wondering why we wanted to go in, I said we wanted to visit the Mansion house for a look around, a bit of a history lesson etc, he said very politely that the mansion house did not do such things, ok, so now I know.
I made a mental note that I will take a look on tripadvisor about this place, and low and behold there it was, reviewed by many from around the globe, So why was I not allowed in? Why is this on a 'places to go' list in Dublin, when you can't actually go there? Why did he let the Americans in but not me and my daughter?
I am definitely a little disillusioned after that, suffice to say, we then went to the national museum of archaeology around the corner and that was spectacular!

The home of the Lord Mayor of Dublin on Dawson St. Combine it with a visit to St Stephens Green, Government Buildings, The Natural History Museum, Trinity College etc. Public transport only or very expensive parking. LUAS to St. Stephens Green or bus.

Mansion House is several hundred years old. The building is nice, if a little blocky. The decoration is simple and effective. It is an interesting piece of architecture and worth a look. At night it is lit particularly well and provides an opportunity for some nice photographs. With a rich history in Ireland political past, Mansion House is now more of a restaurant than an attraction, with the Mansion House Fire restaurant on the site.

Worth having a look for sure!
The Mansion House was built in 1710.
Dublin Corporation purchased the house in 1715 for assignment as the official residence of the Lord Mayor, It retains this purpose to this day.
In 1821, the Round Room was built in order to receive King George IV.
The First Dáil assembled in the Round Room on 21 January 1919 to proclaim the Irish Declaration of Independence. Two years later, in 1921, the Anglo-Irish Treaty was ratified in the same location.
If open to the public definitely visit!!
