How was this free?! 'City of a Thousand Welcomes' was the warmest reception we got in Dublin, which is a high bar if you've ever been here. We had already been charmed by the staff at our BnB and at the Guinness Storehouse, so to...More
Joe took us to tea at lovely historic Merrion Hotel, and even used vouchers to buy our tea! Meet a Dubliner was really a free volunteer service which is rare in my experience. He shared a bit about his life and things to do in...More
I was very excited about the City of a Thousand Welcomes. I had read about it in our guidebook and then did some research before booking. My husband and I decided that this would be perfect to do on our first night in Dublin. I...More
We learned about this hidden gem through TripAdvisor and decided to go ahead and give it a try. We met Linda at the Little Museum of Dublin and she took us to the Merrion Hotel for afternoon tea. It turned out that the afternoon tea...More
My wife and I took the guided tour of the Museum, which was extremely informative and well worth the time. However, it was our ambassador, Jessie, that really made our day! Nothing like individual attention to answer your questions, fill you in on local (Trinity...More
When I read about this program, where a local Dubliner will meet with you over a beer, tea to talk for a few hours, I thought it would be a great opportunity. I had never heard of a program like this and thought it would...More
We reserved a welcome visit through this program, based in the Little Museum of Dublin. Local Dublin volunteers can see who signs up for the program, then volunteer to be their host. Brian was our host and was very friendly and engaging. He took us...More
I met Brian, a very nice, hospitable and wise Dubliner with great life experience.
He showed me around and I was able to talk with him about so many for me interesting (e.g. cultural, political, economical, social, historical) things about Dublin and Ireland. To meet...More
I read about this in a guide book, and I knew I wanted to do it. It is always fun to get the prospective of a local. We met Joe, who gave us the low-down on the culture, good places to eat, interesting sights to...More
When I saw (via TripAdvisor) that I could meet with a local ambassador, I was excited by the idea and signed up. It was well worth it, and one of the highlights of my trip to Dublin. It was a casual two hours chatting with...More

I believe they have an email address . It may be because they offer the participants a pint or a tea with the meeting and may not be able to accommodate 4 people. Just ask that to be waived in the email. You can buy your... More
I believe they have an email address . It may be because they offer the participants a pint or a tea with the meeting and may not be able to accommodate 4 people. Just ask that to be waived in the email. You can buy your own. If you purchase a day pass with the tour bus in town .. The green bus .. I believe you get free admission to the little museum of Dublin .. This is where you can book to meet a Dubliner as they sponsor it . I highly recommend this little museum .. Especially the exhibit dedicated to U2. I hope it works out for you because it was a lovely afternoon. Also there is a wonderful park across the street that local artists sell/display there works all around the fence into the park.. Weekends only though .. Best wishes on your trip to the Emerald Isle .
