My 16 yr. old daughter and I cisited Dublin for one day only. We took a free tour in the morning (southside with James, recommended) had a pub lunch (sorry, not everyone likes Guiness) and finished with a 3:00 meeting at the little museum of dublin with an "ambassador" from this program. We met Brian, chatted a few minutes there... More

This is a a little known, hidden gem offered by the Dublin Tourist Bureau. Sign up online indicating your interests and other demographics and you'll be paired with a Dublin host. We were met by our dapper host at The Little Museum. He took us to the very chi-chi Merrion Hotel for tea.(Your host might opt to take you to... More

Our family of 4 (with one teen and one young adult) really enjoyed our Meet a Dubliner experience with Roger. We were straight off of the plane and it was lovely to sit down and get first hand information about Dublin and Ireland. We even got free beer (the three adults that is)! This is a great program and I... More

Just before we left for Dublin I spied on trip advisor something called Meet a Dubliner! A decided it sounded perfect for my husband and myself and reserved a spot for us. It was absolute best decision I made for our vacation. We meet our special, unique, wonderful Dubliner the 2nd day of our trip. What a great experience we... More

We had a marvelous time with our ambassador, Karina. We were treated to a lovely afternoon tea at the Merrion Hotel, where we learned about Dublin and were given suggestions for places she felt would be of interest to us, based on what she learned about us. It was a delight to meet with a knowledgeable local in such a... More

Me and Daniela (my girlfriend) met at the Little Museum with Brian, our Dublin Ambassador from the City of a Thousand Welcomes. We found the initiative as something very interisting and useful. It is a very good introduction to Irish culture and history, told by a local guide that knows about different fields and responds to every doubt. We definitely... More

Before leaving for Dublin we signed for City of a Thousand Welcomes via the internet. So happy that we chose to participate. We learned that the ambassador views the requests and then selects the individuals they would like to meet based usually on similar interests. We were very happy that Joe choose to meet with us to introduce us to... More

Dublin was a pretty busy place, with the Gaelic Football playoffs that day, but Our "Dubliner", Ruth, met us for a pint at a local pub. It was fun to exchange information and compare Montana and the US with her views on Ireland and Dublin. We didn't need tips on what to see, as we were on an escorted tour,... More

Meeting a Dublin Ambassador is a wonderful service to visitors unfamiliar with the city or history of Dublin. My sister and I had the great pleasure meeting Scott, quite debonair, such a gentleman and more than welcoming. He dedicated over 3 hours of his day speaking about the history & politics of Dublin past & present and giving us a... More
