After walking across Dublin to see this exhibition in Trinity College I found it had closed 6 weeks earlier. No mention of this on their website and even the signs in Trinity were still pointing the way. Disapointed

I went to an exhibition with friends in October, it was a mix of science, art and technology. Really interesting, definitely one of the best museums in Dublin. It was rather small, but very interactive, so it took us about 1h30 to see and try everything. The entry was free, I would really recommend it, suitable for every age.

Science Gallery is an amazing place to discover and/or improve knowledge about the subject of the ongoing show/demonstration.

A fairly small gallery but informative nonetheless.
When we visited its focus was on the impact of plastic on the world.
Very informative and well worth spending half an hour there.

The only positive to this exhibition is that it is free.... there was not much in the exhibition to look at... would not recommend the plastic exhibition...

Having been to 3-4 different exhibitions, each one seemed haphazard and thrown together, with many installments being only vaguely related to the exhibition's theme, and entirely unrelated to everything around it. More infuriating still is the number of 'artsy' installments - many lack sufficient scientific substance and leave you feeling empty.
Only recommended if you know this is an art gallery masquerading as a science gallery. The bookshop is great though.

Thanks for your feedback and we are genuinely disappointed to read that you feel the exhibitions 'leave you feeling empty'. The aim of the gallery is to engage 15-25 year olds in conversations that ignite's curiosity in STEAM - science, technology, engineering, arts and math. We work with scientists, artists, researchers and technologists nationally and internationally to bring exhibits that reflect global conversations be that on plastic, intimacy, fake news or the future of artificial intelligence. A key part of the offering is our team of mediators who work with visitors to pull out the conversation pieces. We tend to get good feedback on the experience but appreciate it is not for everyone. Thanks for the feedback on the bookshop. They'll be delighted with it as they work hard to bring interesting books and paraphernalia to Science Gallery visitors. Over next exhibition INVISIBLE opens in March 2020 - we hope you will give us another chance.

I would highly recommend visiting the Science Museum/Gallery when you're in Dublin. It's a modern science gallery on campus at Trinity College. The exhibit we viewed was called "Plastic" and interestingly, it focussed on both the good and bad aspects of using plastics. It's interactive and there are guides at the displays to explain/demonstrate more about the exhibit. We enjoyed this because they answered our questions and gave us more to think about. The bonus is it's free! They also have a Cafe with wonderful coffee and sweets, a large eating area, and you'll also find a great gift shop with lots of cool science books and toys.

Thanks for the amazing 5 star rating and the great feedback. A key aim of Science Gallery is to ignite curiosity and we love that you left with your questions answered but also, with lots to think about. Thanks for the feedback on the cafe and Science Gallery shop. We hope to see you again.

Nice to see some hands on science. The exhibits do require a lot of interaction and participation so if quietly browsing and reading is more your thing it may not be for you. It's free though so drop in for a look anyway!

If you are looking for an actual science exhibit, give this gallery a miss. Pseudoscience ran rampant as art was derived from scientific ideas. Even being free, it is not something we’d go out of the way to see.

Thanks for the feedback and we are disappointed to read that you didn't enjoy the summer exhibition PERFECTION. Our current exhibition PLASTIC runs until the 9th February with exhibits by Irish and International contributors looking at our complex relationship with plastic under the theme - Can't live with it, can't live without it. We hope you give us another chance.

Hi there Cian,
Thanks for getting in touch.
At Science Gallery Dublin our target age group is 15-25, so we're not really suitable for very young children.
We'd love a visit in a few years though!
