Out of the Joyce-and-beer usual tours of Dublin, Parnell Street offers the Sinn Fein Shop and the Rebel Walkin Tour. Full of informations, books, gadgets, the shop is the starting point of a sort of time machine pointing to the revolutionary past of Ireland. I had a lot of questions (I'm studying the contemporary Irish history) and the Sinn Fein's... More

The tour was brilliant ,very in depth and realistic. I got a true sense of what 1916 was really about. Hats off to Sinn Fein for telling the truth. I would recommend this trip to anybody coming to Dublin. Charlie Canada

If you love history this is the tour for you. We loved this tour, small group, walked at a reasonable pace. Stopped to look at different sites. Ask any questions that you like, all will be answered. Second time was as good as the first. It starts at the bookstore and coffee shop. Stop in the bookstore and bring a... More

Great, well-articulated tour with a lovely summary and break down of the history of the Easter rising, the fight for the republic of Ireland, and the conflict both at home and between England. Really recommend it for history buffs or for people who are looking for a primarily objective, clear recap of Irish political history.

Excellent depiction of historical fight for Ireland's freedom. The tour is set for an hour and a half but we went 3 and a half hours. The owner of the book store gave the tour and was extremely knowledgable and articulate. Highly recommend for anyone interested in the history of Ireland!

This tour came highly recommended and it certainly didn't disappoint. Patrick, our tour guide, was passionate about Ireland's history and provided excellent context on the history of the rebellions which culminated in the creation of the Republic of Ireland. I would highly recommend. At the end of the tour he spent time answering several questions regarding the more current events... More

Pat gave us the tour and it really brought the history of this beautiful city alive. The complicated history of the Irish people and their struggle for liberty is illustrated by the buildings and the monuments displayed in the city. Some of the memorials are apparent and others are more hidden, together they tell a story not always presented in... More

The tour was excellent. The guide was friendly, informative, and clearly passionate about his work. He went out of his way to accommodate us and gave great insight, not only into the events of the past, but the current politics surrounding that history. I knew a fair bit about Irish history coming into the tour (I have an MA in... More

Our young tour guide was so knowledgeable! He took us through the uprising years on our walking tour, but he also had insights into today's history well beyond his years. We were the only ones who showed up for the tour this rainy day, so we were lucky to have a private tour!
