The Stags Head is a historical Dublin pub featured in Dublin Pub tours...

The Stags Head is a historical Dublin pub featured in Dublin Pub tours renowned for it's hospitality and famous pint of Guinness! You truly capture a sense of the hidden Ireland when you accidentally stumble upon The Stag’s Head. Finding it is akin to discovering a rare treasure as it is concealed through a narrow passageway off Dame Street, although access can also be gained through Exchequer Street or Georges Street. When you enter inside this feeling of discovered booty is greatly intensified as a virtual paradise of culture and old world values confronts you. This is probably Dublin’s best preserved Victorian pub - and everything here is of authentic Victorian origin. Take time to look around and savour the sumptuously carved Victorian mahogany fittings, the mosaic marble tiled floors and granite tabletops. Visiting the Stag’s Head is a wondrous experience wether you call when the premises is cosy, warm and glowing at night time, or in early morning when this is old repository of liquid culture is radiantly illuminated by wafts of sunlight filtering through the stained glass windows. The mahogany bar, capped with red Connemara marble, follows the classic Victorian architectural pattern, being long and punctuated by exquisite partitions that divide into private compartments or stalls.

If you want to drink a great pint of Guinness, in one of James Joyce's drinking establishments of choice - then join an international drinking experience in the bar - great original Victorian pub in the heart of the city. Woodwork and stained glass delightful and toilets an experience.

We were recommended by a friend who stays in Dublin to come here on Saturday night to get a drink and listen to music. We were not disappointed! It was great! The band were really friendly and sang traditional Irish music, they were fantastic! I would recommend you get there early for a seat close to the band it was... More

Nice, old traditional pub setting with friendly staff and great pint of Guinness. Also had lunch here, which was very good. Bar tender / server friendly and very accommodating as we had 2 toddlers with us.

Irish bacon and cabbage, Irish stew, bangers and mash, all Irish comfort foods are here and are great. It's a classic dark pub, the kind you see in movies. But the food is better than you would expect. Have a Guiness! watch the crowds (donner time+ is always packed!). Feel what it's like to be Irish, even just for the... More

This is a great place to visit, near Temple Bar, without all the drunks on the street. They have an excellent selection of whisky, in addition to the requisite beers. It is always crowded, but table service is pleasant and fast.

We were SO happy to find a pub a few blocks from the Temple Bar area! This place is SO OLD and the carved wood around the bar is stunning. We had a really fabulous pulled pork sandwich and I tried a Hop House beer which I loved! Our waitress was a cute young girl who got us to try... More

Stag's Head is quite famous and therefore seems to be always busy, but also quite nice pub. Worth of visiting and tasting one of the many great beers from Ireland.
