Amazing local amenity, particularly when the tide is out, for dog walking, jogging or just having a walk. Wear wellies to allow access to to more distant levels.

Sunday 23rd July we parked up and went for along the promenade that runs along Sandymount Strand. This was a trip down memory lane having grown up, many years ago, in Sandymount. There is a long promenade with a car park running along the top...More

I wouldn't have people go out of their way unless they are looking for a modest beach like walk. Depending on tides this area has some beach to walk on with lots of clam and mussel shells. Plenty of sea birds and shallow warm water....More

Located within easy reach of the city centre, just 3 miles from O'Connell Bridge, the strand lies on the south side of Dublin bay. There is a tarmacadam promenade which is the preferred means for most visitors to take in the views of Dublin bay...More
