Local artists display their works on the fence surrounding Merrion Square on the weekends. It is a great way to spend a leisurely hour at a beautiful location. Had a wonderful time with a local landscape watercolor artist, Betty McCormack.

This is an almost essential thing to do... browse some amazing art, speak to the artists soak up the atmosphere and maybe buy a little piece? We buy to celebrate anniversaries and they always feel special (and the artists really appreciate it...) Merrion Square, Sundays in Summer. Check it out, you won't regret it.

We ended up here on a lovely Sunday afternoon and were excited to find so much wonderful art on display. We purchased two pieces from Leanor Campbell. One was of the Ha' Penny Bridge and the other one was colorful doors of Dublin. Both lovely as was Ms. Campbell!

When we went to the outdoor art exhibit there was only one artist selling his work. I don't think this is how it always is, and we truthfully didn't mind, because Simon Meyler is a fabulous artist. We ended up buying a painting of two Dublin doors that will help commemorate my husband and my wonderful trip to Ireland. We especially loved how easy conversation was with him. He shared some great tidbits of history and gave a recommendation for where to buy the best whiskey in town. (Celtic Whiskey Shop)

Whilst cruising the streets, we stumble on some pretty impressive art hanging along the fence of merrion sq, the art on display was high end, didnt seem overly expensive as low overhead we expect, definetly worth a look.

Well worth the visit…very enjoyable art. Many great artists…ended up settling on purchasing some mixed media artwork with glass from Rita Pettigrew Glass Paintings, 087 2922 151, ritapettigrew@gmail.com and a watercolor painting from Leanor Campbell. 01 2894915, rlcampbell@eircom.net.

On Sunday's, until about 5pm, the railings around the outside of Merrion Square park in Dublin are filled with pictures and paintings in many different styles. The majority of them are of very good quality and prices vary quite a bit. They are well worth a browse - and lovely on a sunny Sunday afternoon!

Lovely way to spend a few hours particularly if the weather is dry. Nice stroll around the peripheral of the park browsing the art and taking in some people watching along the way. Lovely calming atmosphere and relaxed environment around the area.

If the weather is fine you can stroll around Merrion Square and look at the paintings and pictures of local Dublin artists. Great variety and styles but most seem framed so it can be difficult to purchase to take home on a plane.
