Enjoyed listening to and learning about traditional Irish music from our two musician guides. A performance from a national championship caliber step dancer at our second pub was a highlight. Less positive was that the number of people, it looked to be around 40-50, booked for the tour was way too many for an intimate musical experience. That a tour bus group of loud, argumentative, with some evidently intoxicated group of fellow Americans (unfortunately), and the difficulty our guides had in disengaging with them cut into the number of tunes at the second stop and the overall experience.

Thanks for your feedback. I am glad you enjoyed the Crawl. We have actually stopped taking group bookings as they upset the general mix of the tour. We always have enough seats for everyone and will make sure it is not overbooked. The Pub Crawl essence is the intimate Musical Experience and we will make sure it stays that way. See you again soon.

We met upstairs at the Haypenny Bridge Inn where we met the 2 musicians and they played for us. The music was very enjoyable and the two gentlemen were wonderful at telling stories about the tunes. We then had a LONG walk to a 2nd place called Flanagan's Restaurant. The same 2 musicians played for us and a young woman performed some Irish dances which was a nice treat...she was adorable and very good at dancing. We were downstairs in a somewhat crowded room with tables for the dinner service. It felt like a basement so that was a little disappointing. There were roughly 40 guests on the tour. The dinner was tasty and plentiful. I had been expecting to visit 3 pubs so that was also a disappointment. However....overall it was very enjoyable and I recommend going now that you know what to expect!

Delighted you enjoyed the music and the dinner, as you say the pub crawl is really a moving concert. It's all about the music and stories and less about the pubs. Hope to see you again

This was a lovely evening which we enjoyed thoroughly. We learnt a lot about the musical traditions of Ireland. Most special was the engagement with the audience and participation of people from different countries with their own folk traditions. Thank you for offering this activity.

The two musicians on this two stop musical pub crawl were very skilled and played both tunes and songs to a very high standard. The patter was funny, but also aimed to be an education about the music and the instruments itself; the gaps between songs did stretch as the evening went on and we’d certainly hoped to hear more music over the course of the evening.

The 3 stars are because of the frequent anti English barbs that peppered the performers comments throughout the evening, the hostility and xenophobia felt quite uncomfortable at times.

If you are an English tourist (like us) you might prefer an evening’s entertainment that makes you feel a bit more welcome in Ireland…

I am glad you enjoyed the Crawl. The stories and history of the music are an integral part of the tour. As our closest neighbours, there is fun commentary and jokes about the Scottish and English and I apologize if it came across in the wrong way.

This was a wonderful way to learn about the history of the instruments and musical culture in Ireland. The duo were so entertaining, had the group singing along and laughing, and were great musicians, playing multiple instruments. I expected to hear great music, but I never expected to learn so much about music in Ireland. It is no wonder that my Irish musical roots are so strong!

We had a great experience on this pub crawl. We only went to 2 pubs, so not too much “crawling”. The Irish musicians were fantastic! They gave us so much history on Irish musical instruments and singing and had us singing along. Great evening!

If you start in Dublin, this is a great exposure to the music and the culture. We started in Galway and were fortunate to get first hand exposure to experiencing real Irish music.
Few places in Dublin do real Irish music so this tour is good

I am delighted that you enjoyed the tour. It is amazing how few places in Dublin put on traditional music. We give a traditional music experience in an intimate setting and believe the history and stories behind the music hep with the context for visitors and locals alike,

Nice intimate setting with shared tables making a solo female feel very comfortable and included. Music and dancing fabulous. I especially enjoyed the Irish bagpipes and the explanations of history of songs. Dancing also great and dinner, bread pudding dessert mmmm.

We were pretty disappointed with the evening. If you offer something like this, it's not enough to cater to the (mainly) American audience, you should also take into account the audience whose English may be a little worse.
Speaking too quickly, quietly and/or unclearly can be very detrimental to the whole thing. Even if the focus is or should be on the music, the explanations are more important than the jokes, some of which can only be understood by native speakers.
We left the event (as did those sitting at our table) after the first part and ended the evening in the pubs with the various musical contributions.
To make matters worse, the drink prices at Ha'Penny were excessive.
Under these conditions, I - as a music fan but as a non-native speaker - can only advise against booking.

Our show is in English, I am sorry you could not understand it but we cannot cater for all the worlds different languages in a live event.

A great way to listen to great Irish music and also learn about the music. The duo playing was also very funny. They were also very helpful with recommendations on where to listen to more trad music. Highly recommend for anyone interested in Irish music.
