Very friendly, knowledgeable, witty and entertaining bus drivers/tour guides. One of the highlights of a short stay in Dublin.
If you do this at the start of your trip, it gives you a good orientation of the city and it’s highlights.
Booked this before we arrived based upon other reviews.
Swapped my printout for 2 48 hour tickets and away we went. Some of the buses have an audio tour and some have the driver doing the audio, the latter is definitely better.
All the drivers...More
This is the green bus hop and off bus that for 35 euros you can get the airlink from the airport to the city Center and back plus the tour around the city and also all the buses around Dublin for 3 days.
The ticket is not very cheap, as we’re talking about 35€ per person. Yet, it’s a great value for what you get. You can take all the buses you want for 72 hours, plus you have a return journey to the airport with the Airlink....More
We bought our passes at the airport and the person working acted like we were a nuisance as soon as we arrived. The employees in the city center were much more friendly and helpful. We managed to catch the hop on/off bus only once in...More
Loves that you didn’t have to wear headphones for the English on board commentary. The drivers added a little flare to the trip with jokes and their personal experience. Which I enjoyed.
Covered top of the bus, well half, for those wanted to brace...More
Spent a couple of days exploring the city and have individually reviewed these in separate reviews. A historic and trendy city and like most cities expect to pay more for service eg. 1/2 pint Guinness over £3.00 . Will definitely visit again !
We didn’t do much research on sightseeing tours for our recent trip to Dublin.
This bus was opposite our hotel and we hoped on. €20 each which we didn’t find too bad. Our driver was Johnny Mac and he’s such a gem, a really good...More

I saw the following message on a route map I downloaded for the DoDublin HoHo bus. For those of you who have used this service (the green bus) how has this affected your travel time from stop to stop? Are there some stops that are completely closed and if yes, will there be a sign directing you to which stop you should walk to? I'm on a tight schedule on our one day in Dublin Aug. 20th and don't want to miss my 5:30 reservation for Kilmainham Gaol. I'll be coming from the National Museum of...More

August the 20th is a Sunday so traffic will be lighter but you could walk to The Goal in 47 minutes but it might be easier to walk to Christ Church and pick up the ho/ho there or Lord Edwards Street just beside Dublin Castle. As that area is not part of the Luas work you will be clear of most of the traffic plus you can hop the 123 bus or the 40 plus some more that will leave you at the Goal in a few minutes.
Hop on Hop off tour bus questions (5 Replies)
What is the difference between all the hop on hop off tours. I saw there is DoDublin and there is City Sight Seeing. I also dont understand the differences between all of them especially the red/blue Bus city tours and the yellow bus tours. Not sure which one to pick, trying to figure out pros and cons. Helpp.

I was curious about this too before my trip but wasn't able to find out much advance info. so I purchased my hop on/hop off ticket directly through the concierge of our hotel. It happened to be for the company with the red busses, but I don't think there is much difference between the companies (from my perspective as a tourist). All of the different hop on/hop off bus companies seemed to stop at the same stops throughout Dublin, just at their own sign -- which were all right next to each...More
Do Dublin Card or Dublin Pass? (4 Replies)
These appear to be two different cards, yes? I like the DoDublin card for €35 and believe it will be best for 72 hrs of just Dublin city area and hop on hop off and includes airport transfer. Does any one recommend the Dublin Pass over it? Thanks much!!

Maybe I'm missing something here, but DoDublin appears only to be for transportation, whereas the Dublin Pass includes entrance into dozens of sites including the Guinness Storehouse, Christ Church, St. Patrick's, etc., It looks like attractions are considered add-ons with DoDublin.
