This restaurant is in good location close to the city center. It is more like a traditional Irish pub-style restaurant but it is very spacious which is not usual for this type of restaurant. The food is good, not expensive, big portions and mostly traditional food like Beef and Guinness. However, the service is very slow. I was there twice... More

We went to O'Shea's Merchant for breakfast after a long flight from Vancouver. Our breakfast was good (bacon divine) and it is right around the corner from where we are staying. We have gone for dinner as well - we each had something different - I had bacon & cabbage - large slices of pork onto of a bed of... More

The staff went above and beyond to make our visit special. Food was beautiful and staff were so so friendly. I'd probably go as far as saying the bread and butter pudding was almost as good as my grandma's!!! Live music all evening - it was great craic. I would definitely come back if I manage to get to Dublin... More

A friend of mine called me on Easter Sunday and asked me to go into the city centre for a few pints a ballad session in O'Shea's on Merchants Quay. I scrubbed myself up and off into the bright Easter sunshine I went. O'Shea's is just down the River Liffey near the Dublin City Council offices so it's a stretch... More

My wife and I went to dinner at O'Sheas Merchant on January 9th and had a wonderful dinner. I started with the vegetable soup which was unbelievable delicious while my wife opted for the potato/leek which she described as awesome. I followed with the seasonal salad which was excellent. For an entree we both ordered the fish and chips which... More

We had read good reviews of this restaurant (I didn't even realize it was a hotel too!) but i'm not sure if we were there at an off time, or night. We didn't have the opportunity to hear any music. My husband & I shared a burger and it was just ok. The chips were good though. We only stayed... More

After our flight to Manchester was cancelled we booked last minute into O'sheas. Fantastic night, amazing food and atmosphere and cant wait to come back. This is certainly the place to book if you really want to experience Dublin. Laura

I reviewed our meal here separately (restaurant entry) - it was lovely. We ended up here again on our last evening for a drink and some (more) live music. Not only was the music good but a group of locals moved some tables around and started dancing - not for the tourists but for their own pleasure. In fact there... More

We loved experiencing the old timers playing their guitar, banjo and accordion and singing traditional Irish music. The place was cozy and the Guinness beer was great of course! People everywhere were singing, dancing, chatting and being merry! Was a few blocks away (walking) from the downtown area but worth the visit. Not commercial like Temple Bar and an authentic...
