A super park that’s kept many of us locals healthy and sane during lockdown.

Great walks, lots of bird life, friendly walkers, fantastic facilities ( Incl tennis club, playing fields, skate park etc).

Pickup a coffee or sandwich for an outdoor picnic ( recommend foam or saltwater grocery both in Terenure) or get an ice cream from the weekend in park van or check out the Weekend (Saturday) food market.

Also visit Dodder park & enjoy a wonderful riverside walk between the 2 parks.

This park is within my level 5 radius and is keeping me sane. It has a great Saturday morning outdoor market and a beautiful woodland walk along the Dodder with some fun stepping stones and waterfalls. There’s great amenities including tennis courts, skateboarding rink, playground and soccer pitches. You will forget you’re in a city when you visit.

Walked for over an hour after checking the website that the market was definitely on. Arrived after great difficulty to access the park from Rathfarnham side to find the market had stopped last Saturday. The website should have information regarding proper opening times and outside of that there should be signs around the outskirts of the park advising people that the market is no longer running. Very disappointed as it was a special day with my daughter and it’s rare that we’re both off work on Saturdays to enjoy the market .
Please don’t go during winter months as there is no market

I walked with my wife along the lane beside the river after dinner. we also enjoyed the walking on the football pitches and the lake with gooses and ducks in the park. That is my best memory about Dublin and Ireland.

This really is the peoples park. Visited in January and it was really cold - went for a walk in the park not long after first light - the lake was frozen over apart from the bit that the ducks and swans had kept clear by paddling around. Didn't really expect to see anyone but there were groups of joggers, loads of dog walkers, solo walkers, couples, even mothers with babies in prams ! Impressive. There are lovely paved walks right down around the playing fields and down to the lake - complete with a really pretty waterfall. A lovely woodland area goes down to a gated access to the Dodder River walk -the river is pretty wide and there is a stepping stone crossing to the path on the other side. Lots to see and do here and so worth a visit .
