We spent a fantastic evening in that pub. What a friendly atmosphere and great people! If you're lucky enough, you will bound with the other customers / musicians. Loved it!

We had read about it on the net and walked quite a bit to reach it. It gives a feel of a traditional Irish Bar. Good ambience , though overcrowded. .

I read the review online and was very excited about the live music. I visit on a Friday night and ask the staff what time will the music starts, which they say will be in 20 mins. We waited for an hour and still there is no sign for any music at all! And we saw other customers asking the... More

Hole in the wall with a mix of locals and tourists. Great music and atmosphere. Skip Temple Bar and go here instead!

During our recent stay, in Dublin, we visited O'Donoghue's, at the suggestion of the barkeep, at the Hairy Lemon. We told him that we'd like to visit a local's bar, and wanted to hear some "traditional" Irish music. His advice was spot-on. It looks like a little hole-in-the-wall but, when you walk in, you know that you're in the right... More

Great pub with an outdoor almost beer-garden area. We were lucky enough to get here just before the band came in. By far some of the best music we experienced in Ireland. A must go - be warned they get busy later at night.

We could tell this place was going to be fun when we walked in and the back room was full of young men singing songs..... Band came on at 9:30, and were great to watch, listen to, and chat with on a break. Very small bar so get there early if you don't want to stand all night.

Some friends were having their farewell party at the O'Donoghue's last week - which was a great opportunity to experience one of Dublin's most original pubs. I loved the experience! The place was crowded, from what I could tell mostly with locals. The atmosphere was amazing - and the female bartender was friendly, very quick & on top of her... More

After a first visit back in 1978 this placis is a must every time im am in Dublin. To me this is the archetype of an Irish pub. Packed, loud, live music and drinks. What else do you need? Yes, there us one more thing since smoking inside has been banned - a heated outdoor smoking area.
