Fabulous Collection of The Best of international art from Impressionists to Modern to Contemporary. A Plus: unknown to non-Irish the exquisite Irish artists of all eras. The F. Bacon studio a read surprise and a real treat of such a genius.

This museum isn't as busy as the national gallery, but boasts quite a few gems. The main attraction would be Bacon's studio which was rebuilt completely. There is no entrance fee.

The best time to go is during the week, as some of the smaller galleries can induce a bit of claustrophobia at weekends! The Hugh Lane collection is the basis of the gallery's permanent collection, so it is mostly 19th- early 20th century works, but...More

I love Dublin for its hidden gems, and this collection of works of art - originally disputed with the National Gallery in London - is in its rightful place: Dublin. A wonderful collection of predominantly Irish art, with some outstanding international pieces like Renoir's Les...More

This is a fairly compact gallery with many terrific works. The most interesting of course is the Francis Bacon studio recreated exactly as it was in London. Organized chaos!

Found this whilst walking round. The collection Is stunning. Some wonderful modern Irish painters represented and a Francis bacon gallery with a great interview video to start with when he talked to Mervyn Bragg about the way he painted.

Lovely building and the first room has superb impressionists. Interesting Irish painters and Francis Bacon's studio. The new wing is worth a visit too. Nice shop with discounted books.

This museum showcases a variety of artists in their permanent collection, but the true gem here is the Francis Bacon studio. How often can you peer into the working habits of an artist? They took apart his studio in London-- piece by piece, paint, doors...More

It's close to the north end of O'Connell Street and on many of the tour bus routes. There are lots of hotels in this district, it's prime tourist territory
