About
The Irish Dance Party is one of Dublin’s best loved experiences where you get to see and hear top class live Irish music and dancing by award winning performers. Not only that, but true to the Irish spirit, everybody gets to give the dancing a go themselves. It is a 2 hour event. Seated at your own reserved table between dances, there is ample time to sit back and enjoy the entertainment with a beverage of your choice. Your charismatic and talented Irish music and dance entertainers will see to it that there is never a dull moment. It doesn't get any more Irish than that!

- Cecilia B4 contributionsGreat fun for student groupI'm a teacher from Austria and took my students to the Irish Dance party while on a language trip to Dublin - once again! It's always great fun and even the reluctant students finally dance and enjoy themselves. This time, some got so keen on the dancing, they wanted more!! The reason I gave only 4 stars is that we were put together with another student group from Slovenia and were not told in advance. The room was too crowded then and it's so much harder to get strangers to dance with each other. It was Steven, the musician who saved the day! He was brilliant! Not only his musical talent and voice was terrific, he also got the students to listen about Irish history and culture. When he said that music is about sharing, the students from the two groups even sang songs from their homes to each other. For me, they would never have done that. Steven - you're a STAR! Keep up the great work, sharing Irish culture. It was grand!!! Needless to say that the 3 Irish dancers did a fantastic job and were so patient teaching the students. I will book again when I bring the next student group to Dublin. Thank you!Thank you for your feedback, we will take your insight into consideration for future times, we usually mix up groups of students so we can create a nice integrating cultural experience, however thanks for letting us know it got a bit crowded we will be more mindfull of that. We hope to be able to cater for you in the future :DWritten April 4, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited March 2024Traveled on businessWritten March 10, 2024

- Global179260749561 contributionExperience 30 October 2024A great time with the family, great atmosphere, the singer (JIM) is excellent and very good guitarist, he knows how to set the mood and involve his audience! We discovered the Irish songs and dances and we enjoyed them very much. The performances of the Irish dancers are impressive! We are poor dancers but the good mood and friendliness were there. I think that's the Irish spirit! Add to that the setting of the pub and the beer, an unforgettable moment for my wife, my two daughters and myself! I recommend, enjoy!Mercy! Thank you for that lovely description for your experience, it is our pleasure to know you enjoyed your time with us, you are welcome back anytimeWritten November 5, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 31, 2024

We went to this as part of my daughters hen party weekend in Dublin. It was well organised, the music was excellent and watching the professionals dance was mesmerising. Then getting the chance to learn how to do a part of a dance was great, it broke the ice with other people who were there. By the time we had finished, I was shattered but I loved every second of it and would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to do something different.

We had a great time at the Irish Dance Party last weekend. It was a great laugh and was something different. It took place at the Merchants Arch Pub beside the Halfpenny Bridge (It usually is held at O'Sheas Pub but was closed due to Covid). We arrived an hour early so had a drink in the bar downstairs. The staff at the Merchants Arch Pub are very friendly. The showed started at 3pm and lasted about 2 hours. There was a musician playing Irish instruments and sang and there were two Irish dancers who showed us 3 different jigs. Most joined in and it was great craic. We are from Dublin so this venue was perfect for us. Before Covid we would have gone away for this but tbh we are delighted we stayed local. There was another group of Hens there from the UK and several other smaller groups from different countries. We booked a table downstairs for after the show for food and drinks and had intended heading off somewhere else but there was live music on all night at the Merchants Arch pub so we ended up staying there. I would recommend the show to everyone. Thanks Dan and all the staff for a great evening.

This is a great dance class. We had a brilliant time learning to irish dance to celebrate a 40th birthday.
The musician was great and the dancers were insanely talented.
Thank you Irish Dance Party, you were the highlight of our trip.

Truly an exotic stay, not because of the architecture of the city, but because of the general atmosphere of life. What peace! We walk peacefully... The women are at peace, dress as they wish, no whistles, no evil looks. What a rest when you come from France...
The pubs are full, ...of the pleasures of being together.
Haven of tranquility.

We weren’t really sure what to expect beforehand but we had a great time, laughed loads and made some great memories! I’d definitely recommend this to anyone on a hen do looking for a laugh! Daniel was great too, so quick to get back to any queries I had leading up to the day!

This was a perfectly enjoyable couple of hours, and the lady singing and playing instruments was a particularly excellent host and talent. The teens doing the Irish dancers were great performers. However, the Irish dancing ‘lesson’ was a bit light touch and disorganized. The kids weren’t great instructors and the room wasn’t big enough for everybody that had been booked on so we had to learn in two groups, taking it in turns. It’s a fine thing to do but not a must-see!

We (group of 15 students with their teachers) had a great evening, amazing dancing performance combined with Irish songs and information about Irish music and history. The dancing lesson itself was challenging but highly entertaining, everyone in our group LOVED it! Would definitely recommend it!!

My bridesmaids booked The Irish Dance Party as a surprise for my hen party in Dublin. What an experience! The atmosphere was great as there were a few other groups of people in the class too. The musican and Irish dancers were phenomenal! Jaw droppingly good! Had such a laugh with my hens. Perfect for all abilities of dancers. The structure of the class was great too. Half of the groups danced while the others watched. So there was enough time to get a drink/have a chat in between. Really relaxed and so much fun. Definatley worth a visit while in Dublin with a group of friends!

Having visited Dublin on numerous occasions, and taken in the usual sights and attractions, we were looking for something a little different. After reading a few reviews here, we decided to book ourselves tickets to the Irish Dance Party.
Along with learning to Irish dance in a fun engaging environment, with tuition from former Riverdance dancers, we were treated to songs and irish music on the irish bag pipes from Daniel, our incredibly talented and funny host. Two hours never passed by so quickly and with so much laughter, both from our dancing attempts and the entertainment!
The best advice I can give anybody visiting Dublin ... Do this first, and spend the rest of your time in Dublin on a high.

We were over in Dublin for my friends hen party and having researched what to do in Dublin I came across The Irish Dance Party. It was most definitely one of the highlights of our trip encompassing traditional Irish music with the fun of attempting to Irish dance along to it! I would highly recommend this for a large group as a great activity to do!
The guys that run it were really great at getting you involved and created a really fun atmosphere! And all for the bargain price of 12 Euro!!!

Hi Anne Marie,
Yes, it is possible to eat on the spot at the The Celt itself, where The Irish Dance Party is usually hosted.
The Gibson Hotel, Central Hotel, Clayton Hotel are some good options to stay.
