I found the pamphlet for this event in Irelands smallest bar, (which also is a must) and thought it looked fun. I am so glad that I picked this up. I was all over Ireland for a week and this was in my top 2 favorite things that I did. They take you on a scary bus ride at night all over some historically haunted places and the host tells the stories about it. He was amazing and if you're debating doing this I would most definitely do it.

Very informative tour. We had very much information about Dublin's history and also about nowadays.
I have to compare to other ghost walk I have taken in Stockholm. There the guide was wearing a cape and old har and was carrying a lantern. In Dublin were no such effort.
I still recommend this tour.

Informatiivinen kierros, paljon tietoa historiasta ja nykypäivästä. Ei pelottava.
Pakko verrata Tukholman kummitus kävelyyn jossa oppaalla oli upeat vermeet päällä ja lyhty kädessä. Dublinissa ei ollut tällaista yritystä lainkaan.
Kuitenkin suosittelen kierrosta.

The bus was comfortable but on a hot day it might not be.
The guide (Cullum?) was a great story teller definitely had a voice that could carry and had some gruesome tales.
It didn’t feel like 2 hours!
Knowing it’s not possible, going inside the premises might be more fun - maybe make-up a part to show what it might be like (might also be a good idea for shelter from the elements?

We did the North Quey Ghost Tour. Callum, our guide, was a fantastic storyteller and we had a lovely chat with our fellow tourists along the route. We felt very safe during the tour and had a wonderful time! We had dinner at the start point and stayed for a beer and live music at the end point. A 10/10 lovely, spooky evening!

It was a lovely experience.
Sara was so nice and helpful when we misunderstood the details and missed the first meeting with Santa. She arranged a new time slot and we could meet with the big man.
Even the Grinch did join to our picture.
Our son loved the time on the bus.
Thanks a lot for all of you!

I went on the Hellfire Club bus tour last Halloween. It was badly organised and totally unprofessional from the start. At nearly 30 euro per ticket, it was also an utter rip-off. To begin with, they forgot the accompanying DVD so the first half hour of the trip was in silence. No research seemed to have been done- there was very, very little material and the guide tried (unsuccessfully) to string out three fairly bland stories to last the journey. When we eventually drove past the only other "haunted" location on our itinerary he forgot to point it out. By this stage, I was too embarrassed to accept money from my friend for the ticket I had bought her. When we got to the Dublin Mountains, there were not enough working torches for everyone so groups had to share - not particularly safe. Even worse, no head count was made before or after the large group traipsed up the mountain in the dark. The guide informed us that these mountains must definitely be haunted... because locals complain that there are a lot of flies in the woods. That was pretty much the standard throughout. It was horrifying alright!! Don't go!

We paid for HAUNTED HISTORY WALKING TOUR. What a scam! Waited 30 minutes, along with 10 other persons, and the guide didn't show up. Sent a couple of e-mails and no word....

My friend had bought me a voucher for this tour back in July 2017 as a birthday present. Unfortunately I didn't get around to booking the tour and the voucher expired on 31 Dec 2017. I only realised this after the fact when I'd found the voucher randomly.
Hidden Dublin Walks kindly contacted us to say that they'd noticed our voucher hadn't been used and invited us to join them the next Sunday for this tour, that they would honor the voucher.
I think that's top class customer service right there. We had an amazing day. We had a combo of snowy / blizzard and beautiful conditions and really got some amazing photos.
As well as that, our driver Padraig was absolutely brilliant. Shared lots of different information and had lots of random cool facts on Dublin :).
I will definitely be booking another one of their tours.

Went to The Dubliner Bus Tour with a group of 8 family and friends. We were enthralled from start to finish. The theatrical pieces were brilliant. The highlight for me was Henrietta St and the Kings Inn Pub. Would highly recommend to one and all.

After a fantastic walking tour in Scotland the day before, my family booked the Hellfire Club tour at the last minute hoping to have the same experience. We had 2-13 year old girls with us, so I read the requirements completely. The cost for the tour was higher than other tours we took that week but thought the extra $ would be worth seeing the view of Dublin.

The beginning of the tour started with the guide telling spooky history facts on the way to the mountain. For the most part he did a good job, but I have to admit that most of the group seemed to lose interest quickly. I would catch myself at times drifting off because the guide didn't really engage the group and hold their interest.

Once we arrived at the mountain things took a turn for the worse. This is advertised as a walking tour but it was a RUNNING tour! The guide completely left the group in a quick pace up the hill. There were no flashlights given (as stated on the website) so we had to use our cell phones for light. The site states (basic fitness required) but seriously.. we were running up a mountain trying to stay with the guide. He would stop occasionally to tell a new story which helped us catch our breath but then he would shoot up the hill again with no concern of staying with the group. He also warned us of wild boar in the area which freaked my kids out. Scary stories are one thing, but to tell a group with no lights that wild animals could sneak up on us and he had no way of protecting us..that is disturbing.

Once we arrived to Hellfire, the view is everything described and well worth the walk up the hill. HOwever, what isn't mentioned on the site is that the club is open to the public and is frequently visited by folks seeking to cause trouble (or at least it feels that way with the graffiti, litter, remains of campfires, etc) Again, pitch dark with only cell phones and not knowing if someone is around the corner wanting to cause trouble: that's not scary facts that's potentially dangerous. This made entering the club super scary (which is what the aim is so good work there I guess); however, the fresh blood on the wall of one of the rooms really increased the uneasiness of trouble makers showing up. The emotions from most of the group were not "spooked" but truly fearful. But.. this probably adds to most people's excitement so I wouldn't judge them on this alone.

Now.. the ultimate unbelievable part was the way down the hill. For some reason, we didn't leave the mountain in the same direction in which we came up the hill (which was a nice walking path), instead we had to go down a very steep path that was muddy and rocky. Let me remind you that we only had cell phones for light and the entire group is stumbling their way down the slope. The worst part.. the guide took off again without any concern of staying with the group to ensure their safety. I am NOT exaggerating how easily we could have been injured. We were all sliding down due to the mud, we were tripping on rocks due to little light, we were shouting to the guide to please wait for the group. At one point, my daughter started to slide down the hill and my husband fell trying to keep her from falling. Now he is covered in mud, his phone was almost broken on a rock (thank God it wasn't or we'd have no light) and his leg was scraped. Another couple from the group came to help because the guide was so far away from us all that he didn't even know that one of us had fallen. When we finally made it to him and explained that we couldn't see and my husband had taken a fall, he said "sorry, watch your step." Then he took off again leaving us all behind! The rest of the trip down was again without a guide and now with two young girls crying because they were scared of going down the mud.

Again, their site says that a requirement is basic fitness which is a total understatement! This was our 4th mountain in a week to climb so we have basic fitness. The pace set by the guide was absurd and his lack of concern for the group's safety was astonishing. When we got to the bus to return, the couple behind me said "the website said basic walking and to wear comfortable shoes. It said nothing about needing hiking boots!" another couple across from us said "OMG.. someone with a heart condition could honestly die on this tour. That was crazy!"

The way back was quiet in the bus because we were all muddy and exhausted! We should have been giggly with excitement like we were the night before in Scotland but instead we were trying to determine how we were going to pack a mess full of muddy clothes in our luggage. (Thank God for the Intercontinental who cleaned our shoes complimentary and apologized for the Dublin experience. They were shocked that we came back full of mud!) Now, the site does warn you that it rains and to be prepared, but it doesn't mention that you will go off of the walking path and run through mud when it does rain. We brought our raincoats to keep from getting wet but there was no mention of the chance of getting shoes covered in mud. It just says "comfortable shoes." So here's your warning if you are crazy enough to take this tour!
