The place is pleasant and the staff friendly.

On the other hand, the prices are terribly more expensive than elsewhere. We are in the middle of a temple bar, which makes it a very tourist trap.
We have seen differences of more than €30 per bottle on a bottle buying 55 at the museum. Here it is at 80.

Spectacular selection of whiskeys, but seemed rather overpriced. We had some fun conversations with the bartenders and other customers.

I really enjoyed the store. I took the tour first and then stopped here. There is a wide range of products that I purchased as souvenirs. My friends loved them! I would definitely recommend it.

I was looking for a good bottle of Irish Whiskey and was told Redbreast 12 year old was really good. I found a store near me, The Distillery Store at The Temple Bar. They sold me the 70 cl bottle for $112 EU. When I went online to the Redbreast website to read about it, I discovered that they advertise the same bottle for $69 EU. When I checked prices at other stores around Dublin I found that the general price was $70 EU. The motto of The Temple Bar is “ A tradition of a genuine, warm welcome and first rate friendly service, is the hallmark of the friend.” This was not my experience. Where I come from being overcharged by $42 EU for a $70EU product is not genuine, it is not a warm welcome, it is not friendly and it is certainly not the hallmark of a friend. Call it what it is. Taking advantage of an unsuspecting tourist.

We were able to snag a spot at the bar and had a very authentic experience listening to the bartenders talk and pour whiskeys. Both bartenders made their Irish Coffee slightly different so obviously we had to try both versions :) It was fascinating to watch, quite the process! This is honestly the BEST Irish coffee I have ever had, so delicious! The place itself is quite small but that's part of the charm. It's cozy and quaint, with fun memorabilia, whiskeys, and cigars on display. You can escape the busy Temple Bar here! We didn't feel rushed, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend :)

We ducked in here for a place to rest our feet for a minute and found a real grown up whiskey bar. The bartender looked about 10 years old, but he knew his stuff. They have a great selection of whiskeys, including Japanese, at just about every price point. If you are whiskey curious, this is a great place to try a few before purchasing a bottle, which you can do here as well.

We first visited the store for a tasting a year ago and stopped by again on Saturday for another go. Happy to say it is still excellent - welcoming, knowledgeable staff, fantastic range to taste and a fun experience. It is a very small space, accomodating 5 people at the bar and probably about the same divided between two barrels-as-tables. We each got a separated flight for tasting so all in all we tasted 8 whiskeys. The staff were very helpful guding us through the process. We learned a lot, and walked out with two rare bottles we loved!

Made the mistake of going here when we first arrived - tired and jet lagged. We later learned that the tastings were twice anywhere else. Compounding it, I bought two bottles of whiskey without checking prices on-line. Stupid me. I ended up with a 765 euro bill for three tastings and two bottles. Worst rip off was a bottle of 13 year old Yellow Spot which was 500 euros and I later found it at the Jameson Distillery for 150 euros. The price included two tastings of which one was the Yellow Spot at 56 euros - absurd for a 150 euro bottles. So they charged me over twice what the bottle was worth. The receipt has only line item - no itemization or tax shown - you can't prove what you bought. Later, our Tour Guide warned us about prices at Temple Bar - too late for me. My tip is to try and buy your whiskey at the Dublin Airport on the way home - great whiskey store and Duty Free.

Lots of different kind of whiskeys, a little bit expensive though. Taste Redbreast and Yellow Spot. Highly recommended.
