Great experience. It was a welcome reminder in these difficult times of the importance of our connection to others all across the world. The interactive exhibits really allows you to immerse yourself in the history of Ireland. Would recommend going early as to view every exhibit you would be lost for hours. However with the purchase of a ticket you are allowed one free return within a year.

Hi fionnm621, Thank you for visiting EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us. We normally recommend leaving 1.5 to 2 hours to visit all 20 galleries in our museum. However many visitors end up staying for longer as they discover more and more about Irish culture and famous characters! I booked Epic for myself,my Dad, niece (9) & nephew (7) ;all four of us had a fantastic time. The museum is divided into 20 rooms spanning from beginning of Irish emigration to modern day and how as a people we have spanned the globe and had an impact on so many other countries and societies.
Belief,Playing the World, Achieving Infamy and Music&Dance were favourite rooms as they were super interactive. Was fun to be in the stands at a sorts match and take a photo, and stand and be measured as one of the Good, the Bad and the Irish. You have to do the front and side profile prisoner photo.
The Riverdance room was great, I recorded my niece, nephew and even my Dad as they repeatedly followed the dance steps.
Everyone gets a souvenir passport that they use to follow the museum tour. My nephew really loved stamping it in each room. It made it even more fun.
From arriving to leaving the staff were super. Greeted with warmth, then as we did the tour, a staff member popped up in some areas to tell small facts and give interesting information. They were all brilliant with the kids.
Staff were friendly and all made the experience even better.
We went on a Saturday afternoon, and parked nearby putting money in a meter. We spent 2 busy hours, but we could easily have stayed longer.
The museum has a kids go free offer when I booked, which made it even more affordable than usual. I would have paid the price of the kids tickets, well worth the money.
All the health and safety measures that Epic has in place gave peace of mind. We all felt safe and as we were there on a really sunny day, we had place almost entirely to ourselves. I have no doubt that with more people it would still have been comfortable. There are lots of machines and screens available throughout the museum which meant everyone could participate and do their own thing, follow
What interested them most.
Overall we had a wonderful day, learned loads and had a good laugh and quality time as a family.
Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone; everyone whether Irish native, resident or tourist should visit. There is something for everyone.
We will definitely be back.
Thanks Epic for a truly memorable experience

We were not sure of visiting the museum as we thought the cost was a tad high. However, the museum is in a nice building with shops and eats. We did enjoy how the museum offered a brief and somewhat thorough history of the island and the impact its citizens had on the world. They offered you a passport card with the different sections of the museum noted and where you could get a stamp. Quite creative. We took about 2 1/2 hours to see the exhibits and walk through everything (we take our time). They adhered to strict Covid distancing and had plenty of sanitizer stations. Overall, this is a worthwhile museum.

This was is fantastic history of Irish emigration. Taking you through the many years and reasons for people leaving the country. The wealth of information amd the different ways of displaying that with audio, visual and interactive displays is brilliant.
I think this is one of the best museums I've visited and would strongly recommend it.

There is so much to see and do in Dublin, and this museum with it's many interactive displays is well worth a spot on your itinerary! It's in a historic former warehouse near the river, and is set up to be very user-friendly. The museum is well-thought out and interesting - and the passport that is stamped as you visit each exhibit is a fun extra. My group thoroughly enjoyed our visit here.

Hi LorLorSam, Thank you for visiting EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum. We are delighted to hear that you and your group enjoyed your visit with us and that you had fun stamping your passport! As you mentioned, our museum is set in the restored vaults of The CHQ Building, one of the last remaining examples of Georgian industrial design left in Dublin. For many decades it was the largest building in Dublin. Dublin's docks outside our door also served as a first departure point for many Irish emigrants through the centuries. Thank you for taking the time to review us, we really appreciate your precious feedback and sincere recommendation. Kind Regards, Lucile, The EPIC Team

This museum has several rooms. You follow the path and it takes you from one room to the next. They give you a pretend "Passport" to get a stamp in each room. Each room has a lot of interactive screens that you can select/view regarding that room's topic.

At the beginning the rooms went into detail about how and why people left Ireland (Emigration), how many people left, and over which periods of time. It was very interesting to learn about why so many people left Ireland and where they went. The interactive screens gave accounts of actual people and what happened to them. After awhile, the topics of the rooms changed and no longer talked about emigration or what happened to those that stayed in Ireland. The last several rooms were simply bragging about famous Irish people or famous people that had Irish ancestry. A room for famous musicians, another for actors, another room for singers, a room for athletes, etc. We didn't care for those last rooms (several), especially when many of the people listed were born and lived in other countries (and had an Irish great grandparent)

You can get through the museum in a 2 hours or less, depending on how much of the interactive items you view.

Hi sofa-57, Thank you for visiting EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us, in particular learning about the motivations Irish emigrants have had to leave our island over the centuries. As a museum devoted to Irish emigration, the Irish diaspora, and how Irish culture spread around the world, some of the figures contained in our galleries are indeed born outside Ireland, and are a few generations removed. However as our museum details, many Irish diaspora around the world cherish their Irish ancestry and heritage, however distant. We see ourselves as not only a museum dedicated to Irish-born emigrants, but for the 70 million people around the globe that are proud of their Irish ancestry. Thank you for taking the time to review us, we really appreciate your feedback and recommendation. Kind Regards, Amano, The EPIC Team

The whole experience was great. It is great value for money - we got a virtual masterclass, the virtual santa visit plus the ability to share the link with 3 others to watch live and a recording of the whole thing, and a present in the post as well.
On top of all that the Santa was amazing, all us grown ups were mouthing 'wow' to each other and the kids are all sure they have met the real deal (Im pretty sure I have too!). I'd definitely recommend if they do this again next year.

Amazing visuals. One all-encompassing narrative that connects what could be incongrous topics seamlessly. The messages are profound especially during this time of humanitarian crises. Could be the best museum I have ever visited... and I am not even Irish!

Visited this one afternoon.
Had read about it as very high tech and voted one of Europe's best museums.

High tech depends on your definition of the words. It uses a lot of light, TV and video displays and some interactive panels. That is about the extent of the tech.

The information displayed is nicely presented and grouped in a logical pattern. You go from one area to another and stamp your " passport " before passing thru the next area. It is quite informative and fascinating. Some displays you can just skim thru. Others would capture your attention. In fact I would say that drinking is not the past time of the Irish- it's immigrating :-))

Re. the audio guide. You can either rent one at the counter OR download their app via the free wifi and avoid paying for it. I just did that. The ladies at the counter were very helpful actually telling me that I can download it from the app store using the free wifi!

I actually started the tour without the app but after 2 areas, I realize that the audio guide was the way to go. It helps make much more sense of the displays.

Within the same building as the Epic Museum are several small shops that you can browse thru to help pass the time.

A tip. You can group the Jeanie Johnston, the Famine Statues, and the Epic Migration into one visit as they are all in the same are. Do the Statues first as they are all oriented " walking " towards the Jeanie Johnston ship which brought Irish immigrants abroad. Then end it with the Epic Migration museum. The statues have no set time. The ship closes earlier than the Epic museum so that sequence makes sense.

Hi bigwawao, Thank you for visiting EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum and for taking the time to review us. We use a great variety of digital and multimedia technology to tell the story of Irish emigration, from interactive games to large-scale stunning immersive displays. With the technology, we aim to focus on telling the reasons why such large amounts of people have emigrated from Ireland over the centuries, with easy-to-use high-tech galleries. The response from visitors regarding technology in the museum is always extremely positive, so we would be most grateful if you could provide us with any further feedback regarding your visit. One of the advantages of being a digital museum is that we are able to collate and reflect on all of the very welcome opinions expressed by our visitors as we plan changes, improvements and new curation in the future. We would like to thank you for taking the time to review us, and for leaving your helpful tips for all the people of TripAdvisor to see! Kind Regards, Jack, The EPIC Team

EPIC is literally 'epic' - an interactive, emotional exhibition about emigration, specifically Irish emigration. The impact that people from this island have had across the world is detailed through specific zones, which have interactive displays, light displays, quizzes and more. You are issued with a passport on entrance, which you can stamp as you go through each zone, collecting more and more knowledge as you progress.

You can easily get lost in here for a good 3-4 hours, especially if you use the audio tour and watch all the videos in each zone. I thoroughly enjoyed EPIC and would happily revisit.
