GPO Witness History is a brand new permanent visitor attraction located in the historical and iconic GPO building on O'Connell Street, Dublin. This highly interactive and spectacular visitor attraction focuses on the 1916 rising, the aftermath of this rebellion and also how Ireland has developed since. Experience the events from an eyewitness perspective of active participants on both sides and bystanders caught in the middle. This engaging and interactive experience brings history to life though electronic touch screens, video, audio visual booths, sound and authentic artifacts - many previously unseen. Relax afterwards in the café and browse the gift shop which overlooks the courtyard. This iconic venue is also available for private functions and events. Our Last Entry is 4.30PM - The centre stays open until 5.30PM.

Brilliant - but must get the audio experience though as otherwise you maybe a little lost and won't hear the whole history and story! Fab 2 hrs and now feel knowledgable about the easter riding and history!

Brilliant place to find out about the uprising. Plenty of well layed out information. The GPO building next door was something out of Harry Potter.

This is a new destination, opening last year. Very good quality of audio and displays. Tells a fascinating story of the 1916 Easter uprising, which gave context to many aspects of our Dublin trip

The museum design is very modern, which is nice, but not very well thought-out. There was a lot of contextual information that we, as Americans, were missing when we entered. We pieced together some of it as we went. The displays are floating in the...More

On Easter 1916 Irish patriots used the General Post Office as their headquarter during their brief and unsuccessful uprising again Britain. This museum documents this uprising, and provides guided tours and a spectacular brief movie that brings it to life.

Is the attraction in other languages? Spanish for instance?. My family won't understand it if there is no translation.
