My sister and I used Namaste Nomad to do the trek to Everest Base Camp in March 2022. We chose the 12-day option as this suited us best (so a 2 week trip end to end) and had a great experience with the staff on the ground in Nepal. When we arrived in Kathmandu everything was super organised and our guide for the trip Dawa was extremely experienced (having summited Everest 5 times) and done the base camp trek on innumerable occasions! He knew every step of the route and helped us navigate the craziness of the domestic airport in Kathmandu very early in the morning, to setting off from Lukla, all the way through Namche, Dingbouche, to base camp and back. He was very accommodating snapping photos and video as we walked and getting us the best seats for lunch, with front row seats so to speak at the monastery at Tengbouche to watch the Buddist monks at prayer.
As we went in the off peak season, it was reasonably quite on the walking route compared to high season but we still met lots of fellow travellers in the tea houses and stops along the way as well as lots of local characters in each little village. We also had a great porter, Sudeep, who carried our main bags without the slightest of troubles despite the weight, distance, and altitude - what a legend!!!
Although we had the odd day where we weren't feeling the best (due to tiredness, slight altitude sickness but often just too much food), our guide Dawa kept us motivated with fun stories and tales from his many treks in the Himalayas. We were blessed with the weather as it was dry and clear most days and had spectacular views of Everest peak once we reached Namche. Personally, I enjoyed the outward and return journey far more than the 20 or so minutes we spent at base camp snapping photos.
The atmosphere of the teahouses was buzzing with many travellers coming and going, and the sleeping, toileting, and eating conditions were much better than I had imagied alhtough it was quite chilly once we reached Gorakshep but that's to be expected! I only wish I had the time and money to do the EBC trip all over again and my advice for anyone considering it is to GO GO GO (with Namaste Nomad) but be sure to pack some Diamox (to combat altitude sickness) and have a good set of walking poles as the path is uneven for the majority of the route and they saved me from several embarrassing slips and trips over and back. I hope to be back hiking in the Himalayas as soon as possible, with Mera Peak on the cards in a few years time. I just hope Dawa is still with Namaste Nomad then so we can utilise his experience and relaxed guiding style to have another great trip :D

An excellent all round trip! I can't speak highly enough of this company and all involved from sherpas to porters. Our lead guide Mohan had a phenomenal knowledge and experience in the khumbu area which we all benefited massively keeping the full group on schedule and out of over populated areas and pathways which improved the overall experience of our trek bringing us closer to nature. Also Namaste Nomad offered a superior service when plans had to be altered due to weather conditions and instilled confidence yet again in my opinion of their company. Thank you very much for your service and I will be delighted to use this company again.

The easiest review I've ever written in my life such was the incredible service and experience with Namaste Nomad.
We first contacted Mohan in June 2022. We intended to complete the Everest Base Camp Trek in Sept 2022 as part of our backpacking trip through Asia. We were unsure how we would achieve it given our preceding travelling but Mohan and our AMAZING guides Passang Sherpa and Nishal went out of their way to help us prepare.
Communication is exceptional with Namaste Nomad. We had so many questions for Mohan; each answered diligently, comprehensively and with great kindness and patience. He took all of the work out of organising and all we had to do was show up.
The trek itself couldn't have been better. The teahouses were comfy and had excellent food (try Sherpa stew). Hot drinks, fruit and biscuits are provided through out. It is the little things like that that make a big difference. Passang's knowledge of Himalayan culture/flora/fauna and mountains ensured we were continually in awe as we learned more about the region. Passang and Nishal were the most perfect guides- personable, attentive, and exceptionally kind. We have memories to last a lifetime from EBC with Passang and Nishal.
In addition to EBC, Mohan and Nishal custom organised village to village hiking in Sikkim for us. I'd highly recommend this- we got to stay in gorgeous local homestays, taste beautiful local food and more importantly sample tongbas. Of course the scenery and Kanchenjunga were the perfect backdrop to this experience. Nishal and Subash were phenomenonal guides.
This company ensures local employment while providing the customer with a local, off the beaten track experience.
It felt like we received exclusive 6 star service before and during trekking in EBC and Sikkim, however, from reading other reviews it is evident Mohan and the team provide this level of service for every client.
All I can say is we owe a great deal to this phenomenonal company and we're all ready planning our next trip to with them.

Namaste Nomad was the best best experience of our trip to Base Camp and hiking trips around Donegal also. Mohan took such good care of us going o er and above in every way to make the trips as enjoyable, safe and inspiring as always!
Mohandas gave us such a personal insight into Nepali culture while we're there with all of his stories and insights. My partner had hard a serious accident prior to the trip and Mohan was constantly full of encouragement and support while also knowing when to push us forward when either of us werefewling anxious or overwhelmed.
I had altitude sickness as we neared base camp and Mohandas was the person that made sure that I reached the top safely and in good condition to enjoy the descent. He was there at every turn and compared to other groups that we encountered i really felt that our level of care was superior with not a single person on our trip having any food issues as Mohan and his cooks took such diligent care of our nutritional needs and food intake. And the morning yoga classes were also a bonus!!
Another thing that I truly appreciated about travelling with Mohan and his team was getting experience Mohans charity work and knowing that Namaste Nomad makes a conscious effort to spread their gains with the communities that they visit. I think that Mohans unique position as a Nepali person who is living in Ireland really helps to bridge the cultural divide and make you feel like you are really seeing the true Nepal, learning and making a contribution.
Oh and did I also mention that Mohan helped my husband arrange a proposal at Base Camp ! :-) with traditional Nepali scarves that we then used in our wedding ceremony 2 years later. And yes Mohan was invited!
I highly recommend travelling with Namaste Nomad. This company is highly organised, will always go above and beyond for you and ensure that you as an individual have the trip that you are looking for, and the added bonus is that you can feel good about supporting local people in a sustainable way while you do it.

Amazing trip to Everest Base Camp with Namaste Nomad.
Mohan and his Sherpa team were amazing.
Inclement weather resulting in floods and snow higher up closed many routes temporarily including EBC. But despite this they were able to navigate other trekking routes and the infamous Lukla to Kathmandu flight back.
Would recommend this trip with Namaste Nomad as Mohan and his team from Nepal know the people and the area well.
It was a trip of a lifetime.
Many thanks 🙏

I recently completed a trek to Everest Base Camp with Namaste Nomad and I cannot recommend this company enough. Our experience was flawless from beginning to end. Pre-trip communication was faultless and upon arriving in Nepal we had the pleasure of working with an exceptional team of Sherpas who anticipated our needs before we even realised we had them! Mohan’s local connections and knowledge proved invaluable on more that one occasion and the team went over and above to ensure that we had a safe and enjoyable experience. I would not hesitate to recommend this company and I’m already planning my next adventure with them.

I recently visited the Picos de Europe booked through Namaste Nomade with Mohan as our guide. He was 100% attentive to the group and responded to individual needs. I would recommend and hope to travel again with Namaste Nomade.

Just back from a trek to EBC. What an amazing experience. The scenery was breathtaking. Could not speak highly enough about Mohan and his team. The weather was unpredictable for this time of year but Mohan and his team were great, ensuring that we reached our destination safe and sound. The team were always there with a helping and supporting hand. Would not have missed it for the world. Would have no hesitation in recommending Mohan, Namaste Nomad for your next trip.

I had the most amazing 2 weeks hiking up to Everest Base camp with Namaste nomad. Mohan went above and beyond to look after us. He answered all questions we had about the trek beforehand in detail, and went out of his way to tailor the trek to our specifications.
The hike itself was just amazing. Throughout the hike, our Sherpa, Pasang and our guide, Nishal made sure everyone was doing OK. Along the way Pasang informed of the mountains and the culture of the areas we trekked through. It was very engaging and interesting, I am so happy to come away with some local knowledge. Every tea house we stayed in was lovely with good facilities and the food delicious. We also got tea/hot drinks served to us 4 times a day!
From the minute we arrived we were looked after so well by everyone at Namaste Nomads. Thanks to Sherpa pasang, nishal and our porters for a week I will never forget. Highly recommend to anyone looking to go to trekking in Nepal. 💕

My partner and I headed to Nepal in April to take part in the Everest Base Camp Trek and it was the most amazing thing I have ever took part in. It was made even better by the expertise and competence of Mohan and his team. They facilitated our every need, totally seamless from the minute we landed in Kathmandu until it was time to head home. Not only was Mohan’s knowledge incredibly valuable while in the mountains, but also in Kathmandu when it came to buying last minute gear, medications, exchanging money etc. Help was never far away! It was truly the experience of a lifetime and I can’t recommend Namaste Nomad enough to anyone thinking of heading away to either Nepal or any other guided trek Mohan offers.
