Lots of little snugs and cosy’s for winding away the evening. Worth checking out.Visited April 2024Traveled soloWritten June 22, 2024
- BRIAN GLiverpool, United Kingdom144 contributionsGreat pub in Cork city centre.Really enjoyed my visit here during a short trip to Cork. The pub is located down an alleyway off the busy St Patrick's St, but easy enough to find. Dark interior with a really relaxing vibe. Friendly staff and a great selection of beers. Probably the best pub visited during my trip and I will definitely return if ever in Cork again.Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 1, 2024

It is quite dark in here so watch your step when walking around. Staff are friendly and there is a decent selection of drinks here. A nice pub tucked away down an alley.Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 30, 2024
- Ferenc MUnited Kingdom1,126 contributionsAbsolutely brilliant Irish pubRight in the city centre, an old pub from 18th century. Great range of beers and super service. Lovely outdoor alley area and covers come over if it rains. If you were looking for the perfect Irish pub in Cork city centre with no Irish music then this is the one.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 11, 2024
- Jimmy BLondon, United Kingdom54 contributionsBrilliant pintsI came to this pub from Dublin because I had the beamish in Grogans and thought it was superb. This place is the homeland of Beamish - so I had to come to Cork. I was going to fair to all the stouts - so I had a Guinness Beamish and Murphy’s all at the same time. I have to say Alan the barman served up 3 superb pints and my new found friends at the bar educated me on each. Wow is all I can say - every pint was top class and Murphy’s really surprised me it went down like a velvet glove - it was definitely a photo finish - probably the best 3 pints I’ve had at the same time in one venue. To top it off who told me directions to this pub - the owner of Grogans who I met virtually outside! If that isn’t a sign I don’t know what is! Well done Alan.Visited September 2024Traveled soloWritten September 20, 2024

Just came here to meet a friend and leave but got talking to some of the bartenders and the patrons and I decided to stay. Great atmosphere. Two of the staff I remember are Sarah and jacky I think. Very helpful, good Craic, definitely will be returning. Keep up the stuff lads

A well-hidden pub at the bottom of a perpendicular to St Patrick Street...or accessible via the splendid English Market of the 18th century!
Very friendly atmosphere with some candles for old-fashioned lighting and a beautiful decor.
Some homemade beers also to enhance a good stay on Cork!

Staff especially mark extremely rude. Love the pub but as long as he is behind the bar I would not go back. Pity. I work in city but mark has ended my time in mutton lane

This was on my list of pubs to visit. Situated down a small alley we struggled to find it at first but glad we didn't give up.
Loved this place. Sat out in the alley way with its lights and flags .
Went back a few times.. really traditional in side
Great atmosphere
Great staff

Been here a few times as I am a native corkonian. Would make it more regular as it is a fantastic pub and atmosphere...However, today I had to get myself a TripAdvisor account just so I could warn others off the issue in this bar. Every single time I have gone there is a small but with a short beard that is beyond unprofessional. Rude and arrogant like the heading says. Dies not greet shirt smart answers and gives a look like people are stupid for making any enquiries. Guy who has a chip on his shoulder and should not be working with people. There are many reviews here that name him as being an issue and yet he continues to be employed. You'd wonder why the owners allow their brilliant bar and the experience to be pissed on by this guy for years, huge oversight. I won't be returning anytime soon as usual. Sad as other barman there are really nice.I was there Saturday 13th Jan 2018 at 12.30pm.

We walked past this alley and I couldn't help but be intrigued by the colored lights hanging overhead and decided we MUST see what was down at the end. Moments later, my friend who had visited the month before messaged me to tell me I should go to Mutton Lane. We looked up the address and started walking and, what do you know, THAT WAS THE PLACE! So with no further ado, we went down the alley and entered a dark and lovely little pub with cute little seating areas and the usual beers and ciders on tap.
