Loved discovering this tasty treat shop! The owner Tony Linehan had a great chat with us and told us a bit of the history. He’s the third generation Linehan owner and it’s been running is 1928! Amazing.
For something different try the Cut Clove Sweets - I really liked them and they are
One of their most popular. Never tried anything like it!

We visited here in February while visiting Cork. We were able to go in & see how some of the traditional boiled sweets are made. My two children were fascinated with everything there. Well worth a visit!!

If you are in the neighborhood of the Butter Museum in Cork, Ireland, a stop at Shandon Sweets, is like a step back in time. This small family owned business has been around since the late 1920's. The hard candies are made on site. The owner is a delight to chat with. The shop is very small and you get a sense of what these little sweet shops must have been like. The stop takes about 10 minutes.

Wonderful traditional candy from the third generation of candy makers. We had a lovely time visiting with Dan Linehan, the owner. Couldn't decide which flavors to try so we bought 10; at 1 Euro a package, this was a real bargain! And delicious. Don't miss his lovely shop; it's a real treasure.

Very friendly owner, let us in to have a closer look at the sweets. Posed for photo with my gf, and generally a very friendly and cordial nature.

You got to go here and visit the sweet shop.
Family run business father and son. I could talk to both for hours.
Hand made sweets made locally taste delicious and having the banter with the owners is worth it.
This is a must for young or old.

Enjoyed our visit to Shandon Sweets, it smells so good when you walk in. Reminds you of your childhood with all the available choices of traditional candies, the owner is very nice and we had a long chat with him.

We visited Shannon Sweets recently and were charmed by its old-fashioned appeal. While nobody was making sweets during our visit, the work space is clearly visible from the tiny, but well stocked shop area. My children are still talking about the sweets we purchased which included nostalgic gems like butter nuggets, apple drops, marshmallow cups and fudge. My 6 year old is telling everyone that Shandon Sweets is the only place in Ireland still making sweets by hand! We would love to return when we next visit Cork.

So sweet, absolute dote of a place! Sweets are great, but more than that it's the atmosphere of the place, and the smell of the sweets that really does it! Highly recommend for tourists who can pop by on their way to Shandon bells and the butter museum!

All the sweets of my youth ready & waiting, clove drops, satin cushions, butter nuggets to name but a few. Tiny little operation producing delicious goodies. Wonderful to see the old skills still relevant.
