Clonakilty is well worth a visit if you find yourself in West Cork. There is the stunning Inchadonney beach, De Barras pub famous for its musical events as well as the friendliness and generosity of the local people. The wild Atlantic way stunning scenery and fabulous food. How could you go wrong?

This is a nice little town with a colourful high street and a small river and market, plus some different denomination churches and their history linked to the Irish , English troubles of the past. There are also plenty of cafes, pub's and shops to stroll past and while away half a day or more, or stop for a chat... More

Though I haven't seen all the animals of Jungle City, I must say it's a nice suprise to bump into a green elephant behind the pub or a flowered tiger on the street. I imagine it would be excellent for children to go and find them all. A very nice addition to Clonakilty.

I was in Clonakilty this summer. Came in on the Timoleague road via "Ring"...I have a very sensitive nose and I didn't get any smell. Whatever it was must have either been temporary or fixed completely. Clonakilty is a lovely colourful town with hanging flowers on lots of the restaurants and bars. Very enjoyable for a stroll around and so... More

PLEASE.... I beg you..... do not waste your money going to Clonakilty. We went there and stayed with friends. The SMELL OF RAW SWEAGE from the bay resembled our trips to St Lucia. It was so over powering you could not sleep at night and breathe by day. We walked out towards the beach (inchydoney) the tide was out and... More

Since July of 2012 Clonakilty has been transformed into a jungle with the only exhibition of its kind in the world ‘Jungle City’. A collection of 30 life-sized, brightly painted animal sculptures was todaypermanently installed in every nook and cranny of the West Cork town. Visitors to Clonakilty are set for a wild and colourful jungle experience with elements of... More
