Family night out. Great fun between ourselves.
Mixed thoughts on food. Fish cakes & soup excellent starters. Chicken, hake & steak all lovely main. Vegetarian curry not good. 2 of party had, both reported as completely lacking in flavour, described as more like a stew and other as being like gravy. Desserts fabulous.
Service was excellent and although ridiculously busy always had time for smile and a bit of a laugh.

Now the negatives. The bloody sound. Lady on sound most annoying and way too loud. Couldn't talk when she was talking. And on repeat some announcement about the car park. The guy taking bets was sooo serious. People are there for fun, a lot know very little about dogs or betting. Lighten up a little and laugh along with the efforts to even place a bet. Enjoy the excitement of people's wins. Altho went downstairs for one race & the lady taking bets there was nothing short of disgrace in her manner. Didn't speak, didn't smile, looked at us as if we were an annoyance.

We visited the Greyhound stadium with a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 teenagers/children. We had a correct dinner and spent a good time betting on 6 different dog races. Interesting !

I really don't understand the hype about this place. Mind you, I've never booked into the restaurant. Maybe it's different in there. My boyfriend and I just show up every couple of weekends because he loves it there. The seating arrangements are crap. There is virtually no seating for people who haven't booked into the restaurant. It's almost as though they are trying to make it as uncomfortable as possible so you'll be pressed into booking into the restaurant the next time. If you're not booked in you have a choice between fast food and carvery. The carvery is disgusting and the fast food is actually substantially more satisfying. The place is always packed with young children. Why the hell anyone would bring their children gambling with them is beyond me, but they do and their always running around making a fuss, crying when they lose money. They usually have a DJ afterward, he's so AWFUL. It's like he time travelled from the mid nineties to the track. I'm not saying music from the nineties is bad but if you hire a DJ you want him to play something more current than Wannabe. For the night of the laurels they hired a band and again, NO CURRENT TUNES, just all old stuff. The base player and the drummer played the same thing in every song. The only changes were the lead guitarist, and the changes were minimal so every song just sounded the same. The service is good though, I'll give it that. The staff are always lovely. But I don't know, I just think the whole thing is a BIG waste of money.

I’m sure the staff are up to standard but unfortunately greyhound racing should not be seen as a source of entertainment, it’s cruel for the greyhounds and it’s only a source of gambling. For this reason the facility should not be supported.

We had fun at the track. The greyhounds are incredibly fast and it was very fun. Curraheen Park was clean and easily accessible via bus from Cork city center.

What a night, amazing food, drinks, dj, dancing and some gambling all under 1 roof. Great night out. Has it all. Look forward to the next work trip here.

Five of us had a lovely evening at the dogs in Cork. A meal was served by excellent staff and they took bets at the table which meant we could really enjot the food and the few pints. Great value night out.

The excitement of betting - only if you are winning - is a sure winner and a night at the track is an enjoyable experience, especially for groups of people. The standard of food, however, is poor and the condition of toilets and general cleanliness leaves much to be desired.

Went here last night. While the service and waiting staff were nice. The food was rubbish. Had fish cakes to start, id almost say it was bought in but i could be wrong. No fish in it tasteless sauce on a cold plate. My daughter aged 12 had goujons and chips. ( a chipper would do better.) Frozen chips and goujons out of a bag.
My wife and i had steak. It was ok but again the chips were way over cooked . Had a desert each too which was the best part. I had a pint of Guinness. Pure muck. And my wife had a glass of warm 7up. The bill came to 101 euro.
What im saying here is. If your going to charge these (RESTAURANT) prices. Then you should offer the same quality food. Left a sour taste in the mouth.
Wont be back......
