About
University College Cork is one of Ireland’s most prestigious universities. It boasts a vibrant, modern campus with a student experience second to none in Ireland. A learning community where the student is at the heart of everything and the special relationship between student and lecturer is primary to our unique ethos. The campus is located a mere ten minutes walk from the heart of Cork city, a former European Capital of Culture. Cork is listed as a top ten location in the Lonely Planet guide which states it “has always had an unshakeable self-confidence and innate sense of pride”, a description which is equally applicable to the University itself

Beautiful campus, just to walk around, but they also organise guided tours, which are really interesting. Tours start at the visitors center.

As a family we went during the Easter holiday. We went on the Guided UCC historic tour with our very informative tour guide Paul. Paul gave a wonderful exciting entertaining tour of the Ucc campus. Paul’s enthusiasm knowledge and love of the Campus and Cork city was abounding. I would highly recommend this tour to visitors and locals.

Small Campus with lovely building. With leaves turning colourful now, the buildings looked beautiful. Nice for a walk and quick visit.

The central quad is lovely and there are lots of historic stone buildings and sculptures around this city campus.

Me, being a lecturer, I love visiting other university campuses rather than mine. This is not a huge, yet a lovely, charming one. The entrance to the campus is free, we even had the chance to see some of the buildings. Beautiful!

I must say I would not mind attending a University with such lovely buildings & gardens .
We did struggle to find the entrance & to find parking which resulted in not all of us being able to walk around the grounds.
The property was really neat & the gardens really beautiful & I noticed a coffee shop as well as a few pop up stalls around te property .
It was a quick visit more for a photo stop but I really enjoyed walking around the grounds

No fault of the staff, as they were amazing just a boring tour in general in which you could get yourself walking around the campus.

I am considering bringing a group to visit Cork as the part of a larger tour of the West of Ireland. The three city bases we are considering are Cork, Limerick, and Galway. I plan for the group to spend a minimum of two days in each city, and three in one of the three aforementioned cities. Which of the three would have more interest for a university group? Thank you in advance for your help.

Cork is the biggest, so there would be the most to do and see. I would recommend skipping Limerick and going to county Kerry instead, specifically Killarney. Far more to see and do and a lot more beautiful. This is where I would spend 3 days. If you have a car, drive the Ring of Kerry for some outstanding scenic views, and spend time in lovely typical Irish pubs, maybe even catch a trad session!

According to the Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience, bodies usually remain with the college for 2 years before burial or cremation.
