Description:

University College Cork is one of Ireland’s most...

University College Cork is one of Ireland’s most prestigious universities. It boasts a vibrant, modern campus with a student experience second to none in Ireland. A learning community where the student is at the heart of everything and the special relationship between student and lecturer is primary to our unique ethos. The campus is located a mere ten minutes walk from the heart of Cork city, a former European Capital of Culture. Cork is listed as a top ten location in the Lonely Planet guide which states it “has always had an unshakeable self-confidence and innate sense of pride”, a description which is equally applicable to the University itself

It is a very beautiful campus. Very much like a set of Harry Potter. While the main buildings are still preserved in the old style, there is a modern touch to the buildings nearby which makes a nice balance visually. With the students buzzing all year round and the Glucksman gallery and restaurant to visit inside the campus, it is... More

I studied in UCC. The campus is so beautiful and I always recommend it to people to visit. For thrill seekers there is the quad, dare to walk across it or stand on the grass? For coffee lovers there isn't a shortage of places to grab a mug. Loads of history with the Boole library and Sir Thomas deane. It... More

We have visited the university campus on several occasions over the years and found it a tranquil and interesting place. Campus tours are available and are well worth signing up to. The award winning Glucksman Gallery holds regular exhibitions and there is a cafe underneath. The Honan Chapel is well worth a visit with its fantastic mosaic floor. It is... More

Without a doubt the UCC campus is the most scenic in the country. Great walks to be had down by the river, around the Quad, past the Glucksman. Great buildings, paths, flowers and trees. Students are super friendly too :)

Having never been in UCC before, we paired a walking visit with a trip to Fitzgerald park, just across the river. What a lovely surprise met us from the beautiful gates, and the stunning campus that seems to meander organically with the River. The college was very quiet when we visited, but the visitors centre provided facinating insights and our... More

We entered by the gate from Western and Donovan Road and went to see the Glucksman Gallery but it was closed. We got some pictures of the beautiful floral landscapes and some buildings, and went to the bookstore for various clothing needs. We wanted to see the observatory, but were on a tight schedule. We checked out and took some... More

This is a beautiful area to walk around on a nice day. There are lovely squares to stroll through, and the chapel is definitely worth a visit. The mosaic floor is stunning.

If you have a few hours to spare in Cork, I highly recommend you head to the UCC campus. It has a magical feel to it! You could get lost in the beauty of the architecture and the buildings; the whole campus is steeped in history. The people are so friendly. We didn't go on a guided tour, but looking... More

Located in a building on the main open mall area of the campus is a tourist office where you can, for two euros, buy a ticket for a guided tour of the campus, which lasts less than an hour but is filled with fascinating historical information. The guides are highly trained, funny, and interesting.
