Not disappointed!

Found this in our tour book and had to check it out. It's been in operation since 1788 and is a foodie heaven.

A must if/when you go to Cork city. After the Queen's recent visit it has got very busy ... but don't be put off ... just go early. The fun, the craic, he atmosphere and the engahing banter with/from the staff on the stalls ... all experts in their products ... and some really great menu and cooking tips. A... More

The English Market is worth a visit but I found it very similar to those in other European cities we have visited. There is a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables and cuts of meat but nothing that made it stand out.

We enjoyed looking at all the produce, meats, and cheeses in this huge market in Cork. We bought great tasting cheese and bread. Many other items for sale also. There is a restaurant upstairs too.

Have lived in a number of places and am currently blessed with the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne, Australia but the English Market is where it is at. History, quality and food prices! We miss you!

Must see! Stopped in for a stroll and to pick up goods for an afternoon picnic. You can find anything your stomach desires here! We loved the sandwich spot for some amazing salads and sandwiches. Also make sure to grab some cheeses and meats. Everything was delicious and what an cool market. Good for a rainy day as its indoors

Authentic Irish Counterpart in Cork City Center of Philadelphia's Reading Terminal Market and Seattle's Pike Place Fish Market. Only downside is most tourists will not have kitchen facilities to prepare the abundance of fresh local fish, Irish Cheeses, and home grown livestock for red and white meats showcased. Historically harsh reminder that, when the Irish population were starving serfs, most agricultural crops,... More

Really like this place and its eclectic mix of people and food, well worth a visit if in the area and try different things. The restaurant inside seemed very bust but didn't eat there so no idea of standard
