the farm Gate restaurant on the second level of the market is first rate. Most items on the menu come directly from the immediate lower market. especially the fresh fish of the day. A must see are the fish selections in the market. Some amazing different fish. The chocolate stall is lovely.

Don't miss the Old English Market in Cork. The atmosphere alone is worth a meander through the stalls, but then throw in the high quality consumables and you've got a winning combination. Spend some time checking out fresh produce, meats and cheeses, then grab something to eat out near the fountain. You won't be disappointed!

Fun visit and great for local shoppers. For tourists purchases could include sweets, fruit, maybe cheese and olives. Name derives from a time when the British would not allow Gaelic to be spoken there and demanded English only. Reminder of Ireland's past.

The English Market is a great spot for shopping. With a range of local and ethnic suppliers you can find everything from Hummus to Tamarillos and everything in between. We got some coffee equipment, ingredients for Japanese food, and some fresh fruit and chocolate on our trip. You should spend at least an hour wandering around and exploring here.

Popped into the English market for lunch when working in Cork recently. Loved the buzz of the market stalls. Dined in he upstairs restaurant. Friendly staff, food a little pricey, but tasty. Guy playing guitar added atmosphere. Would definitely go back!

The English Market is fabulous. An assault on the senses in the most wonderful way. If you are lucky enough to need to buy food, here's the place to go. If you don't need to, a stroll through is a must to see the wonderful produce and the contrast with the modern city centre.

The English Market is a must see for anyone coming to Cork. It includes shops that boast goods from around the world, including many items that are difficult to find anywhere else. The quality and variety of foods make it a staple for any serious cook living in or around Cork.

So many stalls selling fresh meat, fish, fruit and lots of other food and drink. If I lived in Cork, that would be my favourite shopping place.
