We went to this bar last Saturday Night as part of a Hen do. Taught the place was fantastic until my unpleasant experience. I was charged full price for three drinks which I was meant to discounts for due to being part of the Hen party. When I explained to the young man with the glasses and facial hair who served me, I was met with a very abrupt “IT’S TOO LATE NOW! When I tried to explain the situation he said “YEH, WELL, YA SHOUND HAVE SAID SOMETHING BEFORE YA PAID, LIKE I SAID IT’S TOO LATE NOW” When he seen how taking aback I was he said” YOU’LL GET YOUR DISCOUNT WITH THE NEXT DRINK”. I wouldn’t have minded not getting the discount if he had just explained the situation instead of being so rude. We were quite happy to stay there for the night but after that experience we left. The best part was the lovely service and smile we got off the nice young man in the pink striped shirt. That man can really make a beautiful cocktail!

To put this review in context, I’ve emailed the bar twice regarding this incident and have heard nothing back from them, so I’d like to let others planning a visit here have an idea of how our night went, and they can make up their own minds.

Let me first state that I've been to this bar on a few occasions and have previously found the staff to be sociable, knowledgable and fun, happy to give advice on the various drinks available.

However, my work colleagues and I were in on Friday 14th of September, and we were made aware by our employers that if we presented our work id badges we could get a discount.

One of our group ordered a drink and when the drink was served I offered to pay it to get a discount as I had my badge with me, one particular bartender went out of her way to advise the bar tender serving my friend that the discount only applied to me.
Hearing this I asked can we cancel his drink and then I'd order one for him and one for me to avail of the discount.
On hearing this the aforementioned bar tender got very rude and snappy and told me it's one drink only, and something along the lines of "there's the menu, pick a drink or feel free to leave".
I still don’t know what I had done to invoke the ire of this bar tender, I'm pretty sure they've had to deal with far worse than me and my colleagues.

I tried to make the point that there was no need to get so wound up and asked did they want us to have a drink in there or not, and I joked about the drinks being pricey enough to begin with so we were only trying to get some money off, to which she bluntly replied "well maybe they should pay you more where you work".
Again I don't know what I did to elicit this kind of treatment from this staff member. My colleagues that were with me were certainly surprised by this too. Maybe she was having a bad one.

At this point she just left the conversation and didn't come near our side of the bar again while we were there. Which was only for one drink considering the treatment we had just received.

As I mentioned earlier, I've never had any issues in this bar before, but on the other hand, I've also never been spoken to in such manner in any bar by a member of staff.

Very busy when we got there, the staff were amazing at keeping up with all the cocktail orders. A good atmosphere and good selection of cocktails. My Tom Collins was superb.

I couldn't spend a whole night here, it's quite pricey and I wanted to boogie and the music there wasn't really my cup of tea. The DJ was playing 70's funk.

Went to the Long Island on a Thursday night, after dinner in a place nearby, and even from having a look at the menu the Barman was a little bit rude. We took our time looking over the menu, which is vast, and he asked us if we were "ordering a drink or not". We decided then on two cosmos, fairly simple cocktails, and when we got them they were far too strong and I could taste that he had used ingredients other than what were on the menu. I drank mine but my friend found it far too strong and harsh, so I went back to the bar with hers (she was too shy to do it herself) and, very politely, told the barman that it was too strong and didn't taste right. I asked if I could swap it for another drink, and he said no, that they can only make adjustments to the one I had. So he threw in some cranberry juice, handed it back to me without another word and walked away. She still couldn't drink it and, after having paid €8.50 each, we left, having been there less than 20 minutes, leaving most of the drinks behind.
The bar had a very strange atmosphere the whole time, it wasn't late or busy, only about 9 p.m. and there were maybe 10 other people in there so I really couldn't understand the treatment we got.

If only there were more cocktail bars like this one. I google'd "best cocktails in Cork" on our last night in town, and happened upon this gem of a place. Features classic cocktails, and many we've never heard of as well. Original, creative and absolutely delicious. Went before and after our dinner reservation. Bartender was cool and nice, and even made us a list of comparable places to visit when we reached Dublin on our Ireland journey. Highly recommended.

I visited this pub on St. Patrick's day there was live music which in my opinion was poor apart from the guitar player who carried the session. After the music had ended the guitar player sang two songs with people enjoying it when the manager rudely confronted him telling him "that's enough of that". His people skills were extremely poor and I found him very rude when ordering drinks. Would not recommend. my friends and I felt very uncomfortable after this incident.

After reading Trip Advisor reviews we went in search of this bar on a cold and blowy night - after traipsing up and down Washington Street for about half an hour, a local told us it was now called Edisons. We went there and it was a dark and dismal place, with hardly any customers (about 8.30pm on a Wed) and with an atmosphere more like a pub than a posh cocktail bar. We didn't stop to try the cocktails as it wasn't an inviting atmosphere.

Fantastic atmosphere coupled with great cocktails. On par with some of the great drinks ive had abroad. The full drinks menu is very innovative.. Bring loads of money to get drunk here, you pay for quality.
