Waiting for busses
Oct 2020 • Solo
All seating In this station has been removed due to covid. I am a person with a special needs and am not able to stand for any period.

Surely some seating could be provided to ensure those who require it can sit.

Tired of Terrible Treatment
Mar 2019 • Friends
I usually try to stay away from leaving negative reviews but I have had my share of bad experiences with Bus Éireann to know it deserves it. I am appalled at how such a big service throughout Cork and Ireland can have such terrible customer service and timing. I have gotten many of their buses. Once from Dublin airport to Naas in which the bus driver agreed to tell me when it was my stop and insisted we were there when I questioned him. He told me to hop out and as I did he quickly drove away before I could say that it was not the right one, leaving me stranded, a young female, alone at 3am in the middle of nowhere. I have had many bad encounters and have had many buses not show up at all or on time countless times. My friend who gets the bus weekly had gotten the bus today and was given out to by the bus driver telling her he was “sick of students buying their tickets in advance to pay less money”. There are services in place by the company to be able to buy their tickets before entering the bus, she had paid the correct price, he simply felt he had the right to give out to her angrily for no reason. I have resulted to using the train services as much as possible myself as the thought of getting the bus turns my stomach incase the driver is in a bad mood this is not a fear that stemmed from nowhere, there are many bad experiences backing this and I am disgraced by their service.

Extremely unfriendly ticket selling staff
Aug 2019
After all the friendly people we met arriving in Ireland, that was the first
time that we met an unfriendly young men at the bus ticket counter.
We just had a view questions about how it works with the return ticket.
He reacted very arrogant and disinterested. There was no que so he had
plenty of time to answer questions. Also his lady colleague wasn't very
pleasant when one of the bus drivers asked her a question.

Terrible
Oct 2018 • Solo
This is a terrible place. For the main Bus Terminal in the second largest city in Ireland it is just not acceptable. I believe that the only way that it me brought up to the standards of the 21st Century is to knock it down and start from scratch.

Safe place to catch the bus to outlining towns around Cork
Oct 2018 • Couples
This bus station is a is a fairly safe down town bus station. The ATM seems to be safe to be used because it is Video Monitored. We hope to use this site to book more than the trip to Kinsale.

Appalling toilet standards
Aug 2018 • Couples
Bus station itself is generally a mess, but the toilets are the worst I’ve ever experienced.
They haven’t seen a scrubbing in 20 years by the looks of things. It was so bad, I didn’t even want to lift the toilet sit with my shoe.
The worst part of it all is that they make you pay 20 cent to enter?!
One would assume that this would be going toward maintaining the toilets, but this is absolutely not the case.

If you’re here, simply duck under or hop over the gate. Never, ever pay to enter.
Your money is going nowhere.

You can bring your own sandwiches and not be hassled by alcoholics
May 2018
Unlike some other bus stations (*ahem Tralee Killarney ahem*) you can feel reasonably safe. Obviously you get the usual "interesting" people that you find on public transport but no winos or chain smokers leaning into you. And no heroin users hassling you like the Luas stops in Dublin. There's a nice place selling fancy but not over priced coffee sandwiches etc (puccino's?) The ticket office has been closed for at least two years but the travel office is open and seems to be the same thing... nice friendly people in there. The big problem is the toilet, up a xzillion stairs and then you need to pay 20 cents to get in. You can go for free at the adjacent Merchants Quay shopping centre just pretend you're going shopping (long queues even for the gents).

Bus 220 to liosbourne from cork
Jun 2018 • Solo
Disgraceful service yet again. Bus said going to liosbourne. But it stopped in Carrigaline village and went to Crosshaven. Too hot to walk up the hill so have had to pay €5 for a taxi to get home. Driver did not advise of route change. Disgraceful service again

Confusing Schedule Board, But Convenient Buses
Jun 2018 • Family
If you're going from Cork to Killarney, this is the absolute best option. Trains take twice as long and involve a change somewhere. The only issue I had was trying to figure out which bus was mine. I think the destinations were all labeled in Gaelic. I'm from Pennsylvania, so... What's more, when I asked the girl at the ticket booth which gate the bus to Killarney was located at, she sent me back to the bus board which still looked like Martian. Part of the problem may have also been that Killarney was possibly not the final stop and therefore may not have been showing on the sign, even if I did know the Gaelic version.

Anyway, if you walk out to the actual bus area, a nice man with the bus company will steer you to the right bus. As you wait to board, you can then see the list of towns the bus is serving scrolling and eventually, you'll see something that looks a little like Killarney which boosts your confidence. The scroll repeats, so you can check it out multiple times, which builds confidence. The last step is to ask the next person in line. If they're from the Emerald Isle, they will almost certainly be happy to confirm one final time, because literally every average Joe in Ireland actually enjoys helping out strangers.
