Tip for anyone planning to go to Kinsale by bus. DO NOT use the bus stop near the bus station!

The Kinsale bus starts it’s journey behind the main railway station. There is only one
Bus an hour and it is a heavily used service. The bus station is the 1st stop after the train station and only 4 or 5 people were able to board. All other stops in Cork were then ignored as the bus was full.
The same applies to the return journey. Not everyone wanting to use the bus were able to board as bus was full.

If I could give this zero stars I would. My bus was overbooked so I couldn’t get on, tried to get on another bus and was told to get off as I had a bottle of water (it is 23 degrees and I didn’t plan on passing out) after an hour of waiting the next bus I finally got on. The bus driver stopped in the middle of the road in killeagh, I assumed he was in traffic so didn’t get off but was shouted at and asked “if I even knew where killeagh was”. Then when I asked to get the small backpack out of the boot he started shouting at me to hurry up asking if I was stupid (I didn’t even want to put my bag in the boot but the bus driver made me). After I got off the bus two girls tried to flag it down at the bus stop (where it is meant to stop) and he sped straight past. These people are rude and completely unorganised. Do not recommend. Don’t waste your time.

All seating In this station has been removed due to covid. I am a person with a special needs and am not able to stand for any period.

Surely some seating could be provided to ensure those who require it can sit.

Bus station was located in a convenient spot in Cork but was extremely dirt, especially rather bathrooms upstairs.

I usually try to stay away from leaving negative reviews but I have had my share of bad experiences with Bus Éireann to know it deserves it. I am appalled at how such a big service throughout Cork and Ireland can have such terrible customer service and timing. I have gotten many of their buses. Once from Dublin airport to Naas in which the bus driver agreed to tell me when it was my stop and insisted we were there when I questioned him. He told me to hop out and as I did he quickly drove away before I could say that it was not the right one, leaving me stranded, a young female, alone at 3am in the middle of nowhere. I have had many bad encounters and have had many buses not show up at all or on time countless times. My friend who gets the bus weekly had gotten the bus today and was given out to by the bus driver telling her he was “sick of students buying their tickets in advance to pay less money”. There are services in place by the company to be able to buy their tickets before entering the bus, she had paid the correct price, he simply felt he had the right to give out to her angrily for no reason. I have resulted to using the train services as much as possible myself as the thought of getting the bus turns my stomach incase the driver is in a bad mood this is not a fear that stemmed from nowhere, there are many bad experiences backing this and I am disgraced by their service.

After all the friendly people we met arriving in Ireland, that was the first
time that we met an unfriendly young men at the bus ticket counter.
We just had a view questions about how it works with the return ticket.
He reacted very arrogant and disinterested. There was no que so he had
plenty of time to answer questions. Also his lady colleague wasn't very
pleasant when one of the bus drivers asked her a question.

This is a terrible place. For the main Bus Terminal in the second largest city in Ireland it is just not acceptable. I believe that the only way that it me brought up to the standards of the 21st Century is to knock it down and start from scratch.

This bus station is a is a fairly safe down town bus station. The ATM seems to be safe to be used because it is Video Monitored. We hope to use this site to book more than the trip to Kinsale.

Bus station itself is generally a mess, but the toilets are the worst I’ve ever experienced.
They haven’t seen a scrubbing in 20 years by the looks of things. It was so bad, I didn’t even want to lift the toilet sit with my shoe.
The worst part of it all is that they make you pay 20 cent to enter?!
One would assume that this would be going toward maintaining the toilets, but this is absolutely not the case.

If you’re here, simply duck under or hop over the gate. Never, ever pay to enter.
Your money is going nowhere.

Unlike some other bus stations (*ahem Tralee Killarney ahem*) you can feel reasonably safe. Obviously you get the usual "interesting" people that you find on public transport but no winos or chain smokers leaning into you. And no heroin users hassling you like the Luas stops in Dublin. There's a nice place selling fancy but not over priced coffee sandwiches etc (puccino's?) The ticket office has been closed for at least two years but the travel office is open and seems to be the same thing... nice friendly people in there. The big problem is the toilet, up a xzillion stairs and then you need to pay 20 cents to get in. You can go for free at the adjacent Merchants Quay shopping centre just pretend you're going shopping (long queues even for the gents).
