About
This place is a real hidden gem in the countryside of county Clare. The owner gave us a business card with the above information and said he just took the business over from his ageing parents. It is a fifteen acre fishing lake with boats available for hire and everything..... I promised the chap that I would write a review for him but his business doesnt seem to be on this......

A great start to your trip to Ireland!

Almost all planes arrive around 7am in the morning from the states. You pick up your car, load your bags and boom it's 7:30 and nothing is open yet. About ten minutes from Shannon airport is one of the most idyllic settings you will find in Ireland. Head to Rathlahine, but try to give a call before you arrive. We didn't and Liam and his friend Noel were just as welcoming as if we were expected. It's not sign posted very well so the call ahead may help. The trout stocked pond lies between many rolling hills and happy grazing dairy cows. The brisk wind and the sunshine did wonders for our jetlag. Liam provided us with fishing poles and rowboat and scenery out of a Longfellow poem. Liam chatted with us for a long while imparting lots of local wisdom. One thing he mentioned that stuck with me was "This is how you get to know Ireland, get off the main roads and meet the people." So we did.
