We purchased a walk through self-guided "tour" of the village for 4 adults and two children. As noted previously in other reviews, the premises are rebuilt huts in varying styles throughout the area. No resident activities going on... very little curation. We were given a...More

Rented kayaks to go check out the secret falls. They provide dry bags and maps. They go over the kayaks etiquette on the river, map to get to the points of interest, and explain the train to hike to the secret falls. Fern Grotto kayak...More

I am glad we discovered this little cultural gem. The Hawaiian Village did not have much going on but I enjoyed walking around and visiting each hut. I got a good feel of what it would be like to live like a native in their...More

We were interested in visiting the secret falls but we weren't sure we wanted to do a tour and longer kayak trip. By visiting here and renting a double canoe, we were able to have a relaxing paddle to visit the fern grotto, secret falls...More

We rented a canoe and it was in excellent condition. They gave us a waterproof bag for our belongings and a map of the area. We canoed, we hiked a mile to Secret Waterfalls, then canoed again to Fern Grotto, and all over. It was...More

If you do not rent a canoe, you have the Hawaiian village to explore. From the website's portrayal, we expected much activity and entertainment in the village. Nope. Nada. Zilch. We understood there would be Hawaiian craft displays and, mistakenly expected there to be a...More

This was the perfect family river tour and hike. The dudes at the center were nice and got us set up fast. The hike to the falls was not so muddy this day but I see how it could be treacherous. You cross a few...More

We went on a short self guided tour in a double kayak to the fern grotto and swimming hole. We had an easy time with the guys at the shop. They were very relaxed and casual which we prefer. It was 35$ each to kayak...More

Iliani gave us a wonderful trip to the Hawaiian past through her guided tour of this village. She is so knowledgeable about the culture, history and practices of traditional Hawaiians. We especially enjoyed learning about medicines and plants used in the culture.

This is an outstanding, must see village to understand the Hawaiian's of old. The explanation cards were so helpful and in one hour, we had a much better understanding of "Old Hawaii."

It's the same rate for a daily rental $35 per person from 9-5pm. They also got a 1hr rental for $20 each that will only get you to the fern grotto or to the swimming hole. If you do the 2hr rental for $25 you can do... More
