Found this location behind Linlithgow Train station when we were forced away from our planned visit to Linlithgow Palace due to a Classic Car Rally. Very quaint volunteer run teashop serving delicious homemade cakes and teas. We took the half-hour round trip on the canal boat, hosted by a very warm informative Scottish gent who enthralled us with the history... More

A superb centre staffed by enthusiaatic volunteers. Decent cafe, great boat trips - and of course at Christmas Santa visits with super presents for children plus a boat trip for one and all. A few minutes walk from either the High Street or Linlithgow Station or a great canal path to walk or cycle along. Plus free parking nearby.

We hired the Leamington barge for 4 hours with my 80 year old dad as the skipper. It was brilliant from start to finish. Great demo from the volunteer and the barge was great to drive. The scenery is just fantastic. So relaxing. We went from the Linlithgow canal basin to Winchburgh and back. So peaceful. No cooking facilities on... More

Fantastic 25 min trip - Children went free which was great. Informative and something different to do. It was raining but we were under cover so it was fine. Kids liked it and were given a photo opportunity (driving boat).

Went on their short trip up the canal. Courteous volunteer staff and our skipper was very informative. We have also been on the longer journey to the aqueduct. Keep up the good work and look forward to another visit next time we are in Linlithgow.

the Linlithgow canal centre is run by volunteers and well worth going to. We hopped on a canal boat which took us for a 30minute trip both up & down the canal. Relaxing-which it was for longer, but you have to time the long trips for the weekend

The Linlithgow Canal Center is in Linlithgow on the Union Canal that stretches for 31 miles from Falkirk to Edinburgh, constructed to bring minerals, especially coal, to the capital. The canal centre is a short walk from Linlithgow station – there is a tea room, gift shop and boat rides available. The Union Canal, with today's length of 31 miles... More

Had the pleasure of visiting this hidden gem of a place for Lucy Diamond and Lucy Lawrie's book signing event. The setting is stunning, right alongside the canal. The tearoom itself is very quaint and adorable. Beautifully set up and spotlessly clean. The woman who owns the tearoom and her daughter Sally are both so lovely, really friendly and welcoming.... The tearoom was hired out for the book event it actually is run by Linlithgow Union Canal Society 100% volunteers and is leased from Scottish Canals. Nothing to do with Jill and Sally. Duncan McIntyre. Chairman. More

Brought my mother as a treat for her 87th birthday, a lovely journey taken at a pace where nothing is a rush. A very knowledgeable narrative was given by the volunteer during the whole journey, tea/coffee and nice scones were served to a very appreciative audience about halfway through. Would do this again at the drop of a hat.
