I recently visited Beecraigs Country Park and found it to be quite different from what I expected. The atmosphere felt more restrictive than I anticipated, somewhat reminiscent of a highly regulated area. The café, while offering a variety of options, seemed to be priced higher than what I would consider reasonable for a park setting.
The reservoir, which I was looking forward to seeing, unfortunately did not meet my expectations. Instead of the clear, inviting body of water I had envisioned, it appeared more akin to a murky swamp.
Overall, my experience at Beecraigs Country Park was not as enjoyable as I had hoped. I was left feeling rather unimpressed by the place.

The cafe was great, we had a rare hot day at the start of September and being 8months pregnant I was delighted to find they sold slush puppies! I chose a cherry slush and my friend had a scone and juice we took these away and enjoyed our walk. They also had toilets and the visitors centre in the same area as the cafe.
The visitors centre also sold ice lollies etc.
We enjoyed the grounds and will certainly return.
We saw deer,stag,sheep,swans,ducks,birds and squirrels.
We came whilst the kids were at school but were certainly bring them back one day for the play park.
It was around 30 mins or so drive from my side of edinburgh.
Parking was free

We were trying to plan a trip to the highlands by bus and were very disappointed with the options so we decided to come here. We were thoroughly impressed with the park. There’s a small sit down cafe, bathrooms, and cows, sheep, and so many more animals!!! Would totally recommend for anyone wanting to see some cute animals and spend time in nature.

Ok this is a review in two parts. First the park lovely place to visit, nice picnic area, walks and the loch is lovely. Now the negative. Beecraiegs Archers well very very disappointed. Considering this is a Scottish archery club theres no signs telling you where it is after 30 minutes I eventually found it but there are no signs telling you where the entrance is. After phoning a number. I asked where the entrance was. That was at 11am. Got a call back at 13.34 but the caller didnt leave any message. So sent a text still waiting for a reply. My impression pig ignorant. But enjoy the park

Had a fantastic time at Beecraigs with my grandson. We started at the visitor centre which had some interactive activities for children, then went to see the animals, mainly cows and sheep though my grandson was impressed by the rams with their curly horns and the “Oreo” cows. Back to the cafe for lunch which was good and reasonably priced then off to the adventure playground. Lovely walks, fantastic play equipment for all ages and we saw the campsite which looked great too.
Amazingly we were there for over four hours and will be going back as we didn’t even see the loch !!
Well done to the cafe staff, thought they had a great one way system and food came out really quickly.
Excellent day out, great staff and stunning views.

Beecraigs is a lovely country park with lots of lovely walks, especially during this roasting Scottish summer, to suit all ages and fitness levels. Lots of wildlife to see. The loch is nice to visit. Good visitors centre to start you on your way.

A great overnight stay at the caravan park at Beecraigs Country Park - well situated for exploring some walks and trails across the Park. We were really impressed with the facilities, all very clean and well managed in the context of Covid. There are good places to go for coffee and for food in the park, which were very close to the caravan park. The pitches were nice and flat (hardstanding), with most of them having grass next to them, which was great. It was a great setting and with an easy to use online booking, make for an excellent stay.

Quite a long journey to get there but worth it. Cafe closed too early so all you could get was Ice Cream. There were several walks but it was exceptionally hot so we just went for a short walk to find the animals. It was very disappointing as very few animals were visible - the highlight was a friendly black cat!

Festive Forest: Don’t bother. Overpriced. Yes we expected rain but didn’t expect zero places to shelter. Rides are expensive. You’re essentially paying an entrance fee for a mediocre illuminated trail.

Lots of forest paths with great views. Plenty to keep kids and dogs amused. Visitors center doing take-away food and drinks. Several large car parks with loads of space for motorhomes.

This is a question to anyone that has camped there. Are there spare sockets within the dishwashing facilities to plug in and leave an electric cool box? Thanks for your help.

There is a small farm at Beecraigs, unfortunately they do not allow dogs in the area so I have not been in there. But I think you can see some some animals - not sure if you can feed them or actually touch them. There is a visitor centre there so you might be able to enquire there.
