Given the Covid restrictions we ended up here for my Mums 81st birthday. The staff in the tearoom were friendly & attentive. When they realised it was my Mums birthday there was no charge for her cake at the end of the lunch. Small macaroni & chips was lovely and very reasonably priced. We’ll be back. Thanks for making my mums day special in this weird year!

This estate is simply amazing. Took my family from Canada here for lunch/tea. The setting of the house itself is incredibly beautiful. The staff were incredibly kind and did an amazing job. The menu was simple but all homemade and incredibly tasty. The room, the views just so special. The baked goods were amazing as well. My family was over the moon with this beautiful house.

Beautiful 19th-century country house designed in the Scottish Baronial Revival style. The estate includes paths and trails, one of which goes all the way into Dumbarton. Another one of the trails takes you down towards the river and underneath the bridge for pretty views of the house and bridge.

Overtoun House is such a beautiful place. The grounds are lovely to walk around. It has a fascinating history and a great place to stop off for food. The staff are all incredibly friendly. I highly recommend it for families to visit. It looks beautiful inside. Once I was outside and looking through my photos I caught an odd figure in the close of the window on the top floor. I’m unsure if it’s a cut out of a person but it was there in the previous one.

To be completely open, we actually came to see the bridge. The bridge is known for a weird phenomena that drives canines crazy and has them leap to their death. It is thought that it is haunted or it could simply be the mink smell. The House itself is very nice. From what we understand, they serve a nice tea.

I was born here a long time ago and had to visit it . I loved it from the minute I walked through the door . The staff are lovely and nothing is too much bother. The cakes are lovely and a bargain price . I will definitely be back to visit when I am visiting Scotland

I have lived in Dumbarton all my life and am familiar with this building and area. As a child this was the best playground anyone could wish for the trees gullies and hills as a backdrop were amazing. I am so glad that the house has and is being restored.
The tea room is fabulous old style with a lovely mural on the ceiling of angels. This was once used as a maternity unit and am proud to say my sister was born in this room. It is special visiting this now tearoom. The food is lovely mainly snacks , sandwiches, coffee, soup, and tea, perfect after a walk in the surrounding woods and walkways. This place is a gem for Dumbarton and I recommend this to all looking for something different and visitors to the area.

Although the house is closed at present there are many nice walks around the estate. When open the cafe is great value for coffee and snacks.

As we live in DUMBARTON and my husband was born in Overton House when it was used as a maternity hospital after WW2 this is a favourite place for us to enjoy and explore. The walks in the areas around the House are wonderful and when the tea room is opened a lovely cuppa with some lovely cakes etc is very much enjoyed by visitors and locals alike. Unfortunately the House itself is no longer accessible to the general public but an idea of what it was like can be found in the tearoom area. Would thoroughly recommend for a visit if in the area.

My wife and myself finally decided to take a trip up to this old gem of a building which is steeped in its own history.
I was born here in 1956 and I had always wanted to visit it again to see the Angel room.
It seems a real shame that the building has fallen into a degree of disrepair.
However all that said the food that they serve is lovely and I would recommend a visit to the tearoom. There are some lovely walks which on a summers day would be a great day out for nature lovers and dog walkers.
